I'm not sure about that particular case, but I contacted my brother this morning to ask if that could/would ever happen. He's been involved with their mentoring program for a while now, and he said sometimes it does happen. FWIW, he's in the Nevada area.

That seems more plausible. The only way I could make any sort of animal out of that is if I turn my head to the right. Then it kinda looks like a bunny peeking over an invisible fence.

The other day we watched a movie called The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Good movie, but when he immediately asked me to look for more WWII movies on Netflix, I wondered if that was a good thing or a bad one. I suppose there are worse things he could be curious about, but I've never known a child to be that obsessed with one very specific area of history, so it's a little weird.

The other day my son asked me what it was, and all I could do was laugh and say I didn't know, but every time I see it I think of balls.

It's not that they don't view you as family, or any less important than people they would ask, it's just that as a parent you're the one used to taking care of them, and it's hard to ask for help.

I'm a mom of 5; my oldest is 19 and lives somewhere else. In the past couple of weeks, I've been really sick. A few days back I happened to wake up coughing a lung up and noticed I had gotten a text. It was 2:45am, and it was my daughter. She was saying she hoped I was feeling better, and how much she loved me, etc. I had a warm and fuzzy moment, until I looked at the time, and realized that instead of going straight to bed after she'd gotten off work, she had texted me first....and for some reason I felt guilty. Like, she shouldn't have to take time to worry about me, she should be in bed. Then a few days later, my car ends up in the shop, and we have no way to get into town to the pharmacy. So I desperately try to think of other options before I have to make the dreaded call and say "Hey honey, I need to get to the store, I'm really sorry to bug you, and I know you have plans, but is there any way you can take me? I'll be as quick as I can." She had no problem with it, but for some reason, even as I type this out, I get that little knot of dread in my stomach.

Can't explain it; just happens.

I don't know if my brother was specifically asked for his account info, but I do know that one time he said he censors some of what he says on FB because there are some BB people on his list. At the time I assumed he just added others he knew from his area to his page.

My brother and his wife mentor an 11-yr old boy. My brother really wanted to help out, but he said no matter what the sex of the child, he felt safer if his wife could help out alongside him, so it would lessen the chances of any false accusations.

My son will never have this problem. For some inexplicable reason he has become obsessed with World War II, and any movies related to it. Well, I suppose I noticed it more after I let him watch Schindler's List a while back (he's 12). Now every time we see anything related to the holocaust he says he wishes he could go back in time and kill Hitler. One day I finally said "everybody kills Hitler on their first trip", but he didn't get it.

But they follow the laws of the area. I've seen them take a recess on numerous occasions to check on the laws of the particular the landlord/renter in question, then make a ruling accordingly.

This is true. I had the sheriff and robin hood switched, but now that I see your reasoning, I think I like your answer better. Then again, Robin sorta had a right to be mad, and maybe he'd regret his little bitch fit later.

I watch a lot of Judge Judy and People's Court, and see things like this come up all the time. They do make their decisions based on actual laws, so just because it's TV doesn't mean it's wrong.

Basically, if you let them stay more than a couple of weeks, it becomes a "month-to-month tenancy" agreement. The fact that money is being accepted as rent means there is an implied landlord/tenant relationship. Therefore, the laws regarding renting do apply for both parties. However, it seems the landlords are usually held to a higher standard since they're the ones 'in charge'.
