I'm just going to toss out a few relevant points and hope it brings some semblance of clarity.

It's obviously your body and your personal choice whether or not to get a tattoo.
It's her personal choice whether to date a guy with tattoos (rightly or wrongly).
You're eighteen. I know you've told yourself at some point that this is the one and you're going to grow old and die together, but Jesus, you just told her you were getting a tattoo and she flipped out. You're going to get tired of her shit eventually, and if not, well then I guess you really were made for each other.

My point, and I do have one, is that in all probability the tattoos are going to be around far longer than this girlfriend, so don't let her affect your judgment about it. Her opinion, frankly, doesn't factor. However, the other side of the coin is don't begrudge her bailing if she doesn't want a boyfriend with tattoos. If she bails she's basically tossing you into a sea of tattoo-hungry fish. Take the mature road out: wish her well and thank her for her honesty.

It sounds like you want a Kindle Fire. As a student you also have free access to Amazon Prime. I've never played with one, but keep in mind that there's a bunch of Android apps that you wouldn't have access to (basically anything not in the Amazon app store) and you'd probably be stuck with Amazon's custom 2.3 Android software. The trade off's that Amazon has outstanding customer service and it's a high-quality tablet for the price (subsidized by Amazon).

Well, it's more like "books should not be burned just because you hate them, just because you disagree with them." I mean if they're just taking up space and nobody wants them, then of course it's fine to trash them, and I personally don't have a problem with having a joke pyre if they were going to be gotten rid of anyway.

There was a thread several months ago where Bill O'Reilly apparently "generously" donated thousands upon thousands of copies of his books to troops stationed in Afghanistan (by the way, if you're wondering why O'Reilly consistently tops bestseller lists, this is a big reason why), and rather than lug those books to remote bases, they were ordered burned.

Are you in a major college? Big schools typically have a student legal services program or landlord-tenant association for situations like this. They'd be vastly more useful than reddit, especially for dealing with state landlord laws and tenant remedies.

There's been a string of these in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and they pretty much all wind up with the squatter getting charged with burglary. It really does take a relatively long time for adverse possession to come into effect.
