I'm planning on going tomorrow. Is it worth swinging by? Sounds like every other free summer festival in the city.

Awesome! My name is Nancy. I'll be the one walking and cuddling Theo.

That's great that you're considering adopting Theo! He's so adorable, people will stop you on the street to ogle him. You can find the adoption application on the website. It's pretty painless to fill out.

The process involves filling out the application. Then, they'll call your references and ask if your friends think you'll make a responsible dog owner. Then, there's just a home visit to make sure there's nothing dangerous for dogs in your home/that you're not actually a dogfighter, breeder, etc...

If you have any questions, you can email adopt@badassbk.com

If your girlfriend is on the fence, you should come down on Saturday to meet some of the dogs in person.

Y'all have been very kind. Here's a photo of Theo sleeping in his favorite spot - my armpit. http://i.imgur.com/5iwRQ.jpg

Walks are mostly for bathroom purposes. A good play session will relieve his energy; he's not a super high energy dog like you might find in a Jack Russell or Boston terrier.

No chewing on furniture but, in full disclosure, he will chew on shoes if you leave them around. I just put them where he can't get them - closets, shelves, etc..

If you want to fill out an application but can't make it on Saturday (I'll be at Googa Mooga on Sunday): http://www.badassbrooklynanimalrescue.com/

You should come by and meet him! To answer some of your questions:

Yes, he is neutered and up to date on shots/healthy.

He does fine being home (no separation anxiety) but to be fair, my dog is there too. Not sure how he'd do alone, but I think they mostly sleep while I'm gone. He is not crated, has the run of the apartment.

He does need three walks a day OR you need to be okay with him using a Wee Wee pad. I have a dog walker come in while I'm at work.

Walking on a leash is clearly a new concept for him. He's doing better and my dog walker is giving him some instruction. Like most dogs, he'll try to bolt if he sees a squirrel, etc.

No issues with black people!

He's a small guy and doesn't need a lot of room. He likes playing with toys and likes to be close to me when I'm home. He sleeps in the bed with me at night.

Solution: get rid of cats?

Yes, I'm his foster and he's been staying with me and my dog for two weeks. I have a 30lb mutt that he gets along with - they're recently started wrestling together!

Unfortunately, he does not like cats - he barks at them.

Satisfied customer here. I only wish that I knew the identity of my gift giver so that I could thank him/her for 7 Wonders + Leaders expansion. My gift recipient was excited and gracious upon receiving Betrayal and Elder Sign.

This was my fourth Reddit Gift exchange and I've had good experiences all around.

Try the New Yorker: Fiction series. Writers whose work has appeared in The New Yorker read a short story they admire.

If EpicSchwinn has inspired you to help make a kid's birthday awesome, check out http://www.cheerfulgivers.org/. For as little as $10 you can give a kid whose birthday might otherwise go forgotten a toy-filled birthday bag.

I need a good zombie novel about the average person surviving. by onlyrockt21in booksuggestions

[–]cupcakemafia 3 points4 points ago

I strongly recommend "Things We Didn't See Coming" by Steven Amsterdam. It's not zombies per se, but it's all about how average people are coping in a post-apocalyptic world as things get progressively worse.

I don't know too much about the back story here, other than for a few years these guys had a booth at the holiday market at Bryant Park. I volunteered with them in 2009 to wrap games that were being donated to a local teen shelter. Sad to see they weren't able to make a full time go of it in NYC.
