After reading through your AMA, I say thank you, and this represents what most family farms would represent as well. I don't think that many people realize farmers typically work with the best interest of the animals in mind. Cows won't produce well if they are not well cared for. And any benefit from using drugs or hormones does not offset the price. I appreciate your comment about the cost of having to dump an entire tank of milk if it tests positive for any drugs. This was a serious issue for my family when we had dairy cows, and we made sure to clear any cow prior to including their milk in the common tank!

At this point, if we were to let dairy cows loose they would be hurt more than keeping them in captivity. Have you ever seen an udder explode because a cow didn't get milked soon enough? I have. Ouch. And if you have ANY knowledge at all about dairy, you would know the hormones are NOT what causes them to lactate for 9 months out of the year. Many dairy cattle do not receive any hormones and still lactate for 9-10 months because that was normal feeding time for calves. Do some research on cattle before you try to blame chemical alteration.

I have Mirena, no kids, and don't want any ever. My original dr refused bc she thought i might change my mind about kids and was uncomfortable with the risk of infertility through complications, but she referred me to another dr within the clinic who would do it.

Some drs may choose not to if you have never given birth, or if they feel your cervix is too small.

I appreciate your point of OWS being heard, and i belive that young people in their 20s across the country are talking about OWS. But i gotta be honest, everyone I've talked to about it in my slightly older, middle class demographic in a decent-sized metro area has written the protestors off as nothing. Yes, Reddit's talking about it, but does that make any true impact?

Another option instead of deodorant is using a medium grit scrub post shave, in the shower, to reduce bumps and ingrown hairs. Facial scrubs work well, but avoid minty ones unless you like a cold tingle on your bits.

I'm guessing that statistic was taken dividing the number of abortions in x timeframe divided by the number of women in the US. One in three seems outlandish otherwise.

Lamb and goat both; Americans aren't given the opportunity in many cases, or equate it to eating horsemeat which is considered dog food quality meat. But both are delicious when prepared well!
