TROPHY CASE

Where do I report a kernel bug? by 094TQ5in linux

[–]corbet 0 points1 point ago

When in doubt, linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org. The more information you can provide about the bug, the better.

Are you running a distributor kernel? If so, the distributor's bug tracker can also be a good place to report bugs.

3.0 is the new longterm kernel by Anonymoin linux

What RHEL uses is far removed from 2.6.32, and they claim not to use the 2.6.32.x updates at all. There will be no help from that direction. Ubuntu, instead, appears to be genuinely interested in maintaining it for a few years longer. That would be interesting...there has never been an Ubuntu-maintained kernel before.

Pay-Pal Squeezes Merchants with Unfair and Likely Illegal Business Practices: A class-action suit charges Pay-Pal with some shady practices that leave small businesses in a jam by maxwellhillin technology

I've run a small business off Paypal for quite a few years now. All is not perfect, but anybody who thinks PayPal is the worst of absolute evil has not dealt with the credit card system. PayPal certainly has its faults, and I would never want to rely on it exclusively, but the payment system in general is quite hostile to merchants. As the article notes, their incentive is to keep customers using their system; then the merchants have to go along with them regardless.

I'm running linux.conf.au next month, does /r/linux do conferences? by noisymimein linux

I've attended Linux conferences all over the planet; LCA remains one of my favorites anywhere. I'll be there, as usual, and am looking forward to it.

The plane ride to get there, instead, is not something I'm looking forward to...

"It even runs on some supercomputers"

...for very high values of "some", anyway. Some = 91% in this case. Kind of turns me off to the whole article, sadly.

I wrote the article and own (much of) the site; I think I'm on pretty solid ground :)
