Something a lot of Redditors will be happy to hear. The standard go-to replies to Jobs' lack of charity is "the company was losing money when he arrived!".

Yet Apple was not well known for charitable acts in the years after it made lots of money, and while Jobs may well have given money away completely anonymously he certainly was not well known for philanthropic endeavours.

It's good that Apple is doing 'more good' for the world.

Try both. The CS6 package has a lot to offer, including speedgrade which would be good to learn, and some people get a lot out of AVID.

I would personally go with Premiere for it's integration with After Effects.

Well, I guess it comes down to what is acceptable. 'No lag at all' is clearly not correct and indeed it would entirely depend on your hardware.

I think however that having the option to not have to transcode and for it to still be pretty solid and usable is a great leap forward over the alternative - and of course you can still transcode if you want.

Yup, as chugachh3dguy says it's normal.

As you mention in the footage the H264 video is usable - whereas before CS5 and CUDA it would not have been at all.

The thing of course is that you can edit these, at high quality, directly from the camera without spending all the time transcoding to ProRes or in your case Cineform.

But of course something has to give... in this case you sacrifice the buttery smooth playback your cineform transcodes have.

I guess you get to decide whether you want to edit immediately and live with the slight delays in scrubbing, or if you can wait for the transcodes.

The link you posted is not behind the scenes of Avengers. It's a tutorial to create VFX similar to it.

Again: it was not a request for a tutorial to create similar effects. It was a request for slightly more information than a single screen shot.

Try learning something for yourself!

I've used AE for years. I would be able to re-create the HUD effects without a tutorial.
