If you thought a friend had feelings for you, regardless of whether you felt the same, would you try to get them to admit it? by confused_friendin AskReddit

If you suspect them of liking you already, how does confirming that change how you see them?

And I'm not just talking about someone thinking you're physically attractive and/or only being your friend in the hopes they'll eventually get sex out of it. I mean someone who is a close friend and has genuinely developed feelings for you through no choice of their own. They're not ogling you, they just happen to like you, possibly more than you like them. If they're not doing anything about it, they're obviously trying to suppress whatever feelings they have and move on while staying your friend. How is that negative?

I was actually planning on never approaching the issue. The other person just seems to be egging me towards it and I'm not sure if it's coincidental or if that person knows and is slowly pushing me to admit it.

I don't know whether to feel happy or sad about this... by confused_friendin offmychest

Thanks. This definitely makes sense. I'd still be worried about potentially acting different towards him, even subconsciously, but you're right, I shouldn't make a move myself, just be patient and let him do so if he wants to.
