It's the older generation that's entitled, not the students by restlysin canada

[–]coaster33 0 points1 point ago

How do you nearly get a free education? It is either free or it isn't? Those in Quebec get a nearly free education when compared to students in the USA. Should students in the USA blame students in Quebec for thier expensive schooling? You make it out like you are a victim and that you are suffering because those before you didn't try harder to make your life easier. The world doesn't care about you, or me, and you better move in with Mom if you want someone to take care of you.

Which people took advantage of what system for free? Are you saying its a conspiracy against young people? Are you saying you are a victim? Just what exactly are you saying?

Meh, just shitty kids trying to hit the top corner to get the girl, don't know shit how to play hockey. It's like looking at the pretty ducks walk through traffic, look honey, look at the pretty ducks. It's just a picture of a bunch of yanks looking at the pretty ducks. Nah just kidding, that's pretty amazing, imagine being a player looking at the pretty ducks, no, wait . . .

When will the rest of Canada realize that the stuff going on in Quebec isn't about a $325 tuition hike or being spoiled? by kylemacmacin canada

OK sure, want to be rational do you? How about killing that little bilingualism law you have in Quebec that costs so much money, and is stupid as hell. You don't enforce a culture. It either survives or it doesn't. Judging by what I see in Quebec, they don't need any help being Quebecors. Quebec is just like your Aunt Rose, annoying as hell, but fun at parties.

And where does the Government of Quebec get their money from? Only Quebec taxpayers? Oh wait, we forgot equalization payments that come from the rest of Canada. Quebec got approx 7 billion dollars this year from the rest of Canada in equalization payments. It went to the Quebec Government, who in turn spent it on . . .

The rules to stay constant? What rules? Do you have any concept how much $30K was when the boomers were young? Me thinks you haven't really thought this through.

As a citizen not in Quebec, what is a good way to show my support? by Kraidenin canada

[–]coaster33 0 points1 point ago

Come on now, be rational. All people pay taxes, in some form or another. Ideally people pay their fair share. The taxes pay for many things, health care, roads, schools, army, etc, etc. When there is not enough money, the government institutes a user pay system, or in the case with tuition, a modified user pay system. All public education is subsidized to some degree. In Quebec, it is subsidized to a large degree. If Quebec students are successful in not accepting to pay more of their fair share for their education, the cost will be born unto all taxpayers, not just graduates. The fact that graduates may eventually earn a larger income than non graduates does not give them the right to not have a form of user pay system. I think you are the future 1%.

Education was never free - taxes paid for it. At one time there were enough taxes to pay for everything. Inflation, and the addition of so many social services, and special interests, have eaten away at that tax revenue. Now there are not enough taxes to pay for everything, for everyone, and you have more user pay experiences, such as secondary education, which I did not have, nor could I afford. BTW - I am not a boomer.

So its everybody else's fault you can't get what other people had? You are not going to get far with that attitude.

Not exactly accurate. All taxpayers, not just graduates, subsidize Quebec's social programs, including education.

You should have you other hand out looking for money, and then it would be an accurate portrayal. This has nothing to do with being part of Canada, but everything to do with Quebec continuing to expect everyone else to carry the load. Quebec education is subsidized by all Canadian taxpayers, and should the students win, it will result in more money coming from my pocket to subsidize Quebec. Again.

You could learn what it means for people. The vast majority of Quebec tuition funding comes from government, i.e. taxpayers. Quebec has the lowest student tuition costs in Canada, by a wide margin. Should the students win, all Canadian taxpayers will be forced to pay more to continue to disproportionately subsidize Quebec's education. http://nationalpostnews.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/na0519_tuition_1500.gif

Your thoughts about Quebec's student protest by billliin uwaterloo

[–]coaster33 0 points1 point ago

I think its shit. Quebec will protest anything, with little or no knowledge of the facts. Quebec is the spoiled brat of Canada, and throws a tantrum every time they don't get what they want. The fact is that if the students are successful, it will mean higher taxes for everyone else in Canada, but the student don't give a shit about that.

That is taxes. How the hell do you think Quebec has the lowest tuition costs now? Taxes. Every Canadian subsidizes Quebec's low tuition costs through taxes and equalization payments. Of course its a handout.

As strange as it may seem, you tend to be attracted to people like your Mom/Dad:) Are you the possessive/controlling/nurturing type?

About to move in to an apartment with my girlfriend, any thing I should know before hand? by I_the_mightyin AskReddit

[–]coaster33 1 point2 points ago

Funny story - when I moved in with my wife - girlfriend at the time, she was decorating the house how she liked, and getting rid of my velvet posters, and bachelor crap. I asked my father, who was married 4 times, and he said don't put up with that shit, show her who is boss. I also asked a family friend what to do, and he said she is making a nest, just let, and all will be OK, because at the end of the day, you just want a happy home.

I looked at my father married 4 times, and the family friend married for 50 years to the same woman, and let my girlfriend, (now wife), make a friggin nest. Sure looks a hell of a lot better, and we are now 20 years together.

First date. Should I sit next to or across from her? by bucketofpeyotein AskReddit

[–]coaster33 0 points1 point ago

You should either be on top, or preferably, have her on top. You will probably last longer, and she has better chances at orgasm. Either way, be safe, wrap it up.
