That is great, thank you! I end up in the second position all the time (where I'm trying to pass the half guard) and this is a new maneuver that could add some flair to my repertoire. A more accurate representation of what I'm shooting for would be at about 3:00 of the Hall vid, where from top control (while in my opponents half guard), I'll drive my knee across to take mount, with the bottom guy retaining a quarter guard, rolling from there to take the back. Also, valid point by Tango_MF that this isn't actually a sweep, but rather a back take. Thanks guys!

Would you mind elaborating a bit more on you thoughts about the purple belt?

ha, cleggs is a bit fatter now and runs between 190 and buckninety five. G-school is a terrifyingly solid 210 and is notoriously modest to boot. He will choke you out in the nicest way possible, guarunteed.

semi-urgent: Have any of you guys gotten MRSA on the mat? looks like I'm in some trouble... by savesonmi-451in bjj

I have had 5 MRSA infections in the past year, and am finally (knock on wood) kicking it for good. Bactrim, believe it or not, isn't the most useful thing. Keeping it clean and drained is the key to kicking it, and from what the ID doc told me, the most important thing to do with respect to not reinfecting yourself is keeping the area(s) uber clean and using a soap called Hibiclense. After you scrub the shite out of the area, get out of the shower and cover it with hibiclense. Wait a few minutes and rinse off, and that is it. I followed the docs instructions to the letter EVERY TIME and yet I still got re-infected, this apparently is the key to avoiding re-infection.

What I think of when I see a trailer for "Real Steel". by songchartsin movies

In all fairness, it is loosely based off of an old twilight zone episode (starring a young Lee Marvin). In the not too distant future human fighting is illegal so we fight robots instead. Marvin's character (Steel) was a prizefighter turned down on his luck robo-fighter manager. His robot is falling apart, and in an act of desperation Steel disguises himself as a machine and steps in the ring, getting an ass beating for his troubles. A great episode, especially for fans of combat sports.

With a d'arce (or brabo, same thing, sometimes taught with grip variation sometimes no) the forearm is on the neck, while with the anaconda the bicep is on the neck. very similar chokes. the same as an arm triangle as well, except withe the d'arce/brabo/anaconda, the two grapplers heads are facing in the same direction and with the arm triangle they are facing each other (more or less).

Watch the full video of the interview, there was a fair amount of editing done and his words were taken out of context.

St. Louis has a Mardi Gras? They're all inferior, but I'd wager Mobile's is better.
