Hello fellow psychonauts, I just wanted to know what your opinions are on this whole 2012 thing / has life been getting more...'interesting' for anyone else as of lately? by pineapplemonkeyin Psychonaut

Back in the day, Art Bell called it The Quickening. I think things are quickening every year, but that's just me.

What is the single most powerful hallucinatory experience you have had while tripping? by ihutch01in Drugs

Four hits. While peaking, everything imaginable and unimaginable happened on my ceiling. On my way to that peak, while my mind was still reasonably clear, I walked into the room where my brother was watching a soap opera after school. The lady on the screen was crying and with every tear she shed, her facial features melted into a puddle on the floor in front of the TV. After a couple minutes, she was just a featureless, skin-toned face on the screen. Meanwhile, the pictures on the wall were playing with each other and returning to their original positions and my brother was melting into the couch as it breathed heavily.

In preparation for Memorial Day, what do you bring to a BBQ? by LaughingMan9in AskReddit

Cabbage, cut up like cole slaw, some pineapple chunks, and some orange juice. Light, refreshing, unique. Liven it up with some orange zest, honey, agave syrup, shredded coconut, you name it. People love it.

does anyone know of a good recipe for cold coffee that doesn't use the powder coffee stuff and doesn't have ice cream in it?? by MamaMx2in AskReddit

[–]ccnova 0 points1 point ago

Brew regular coffee at 1.5 or 2 times normal strength. Let it cool completely but don't let it sit out for too long. An hour or less should suffice. Pour that over ice. Voila!

There is also a cold-brew method that takes several hours and involves some specialty equipment.

I've had my eye on one of those knife holders for a while. And those smoothies look wonderful.

Psychonauts, what do you do in life? by fearachievedin Psychonaut

Early in my seeking I decided the best plan for me was to have no plan. I took a couple college courses that interested me, but never worked toward a degree. One job has led to another over the years and I now enjoy a comfortable living at a career in which I excel. As a youngster opening my mind, I just knew the dog-eat-dog, corporate-ladder, suit-and-tie lifestyle didn't interest me, and I also learned that my own happiness is far more important than oft-coveted material possessions.

Reddit, what were your greatest moments in life? by rarehumanin AskReddit

Standing barefoot on the courthouse lawn under the California sun marrying the love of my life, just the two of us and a female minister reciting traditional Native American wedding vows. The rest of the day/night was spent eating, drinking, and being married.

What's the worst thing a family member as ever done to you? by user862in AskReddit

[–]ccnova 2 points3 points ago

My girlfriend and my brother's girlfriend got in a fight in the middle of the night at my parents' house. The three of them were getting pretty out of hand and I was the only one keeping a cool head. My dad came out and warned us if we didn't calm down he would spray us with the hose. The others didn't like the sound of that and I think he got a little scared, so he just soaked me, being that I was the most non-threatening in the bunch. Thanks a lot, Dad. I forgive, but I never forget.

How do you survive an uneventful life where you don't accomplish anything? by Tehfeared1in AskReddit

[–]ccnova 0 points1 point ago

You can affect the world around you more than powerful heads of state, brilliant philosophical minds, and popular artists by simply being a good person. What matters to most of us on a day-to-day basis is the interaction we have with people around us. Let every thought, word, and deed represent the best in you - in humanity - and you will have done wonders to "change this chaotic mess of a world."

Short of becoming some sort of hermit living off the land in some remote location, which I've seriously considered, especially in my younger years, there's a comfort to be found, at least for me, in functioning within the machine while "knowing" more than the other cogs in the wheel. Like being in on some cosmic secret.

Has anyone on this subreddit actually experienced something truely paranormal with no logical explination, and if so can you share your story(s)? by pinkpanthersin Paranormal

[–]ccnova 1 point2 points ago

I've seen a couple unexplained things in the sky, met a few ghosts, experienced a few psychic or extrasensory phenomena, and encountered what I believe could have been a Yeti. Most of my life I've attributed all these things to the paranormal, but I do know that our imaginations are amazing things.
