It's hard to explain Pale Fire and it's been too long since I read it for me to recall a lot of it, but you referenced some other authors that are a bit more experimental with their styles. I'm not big on poetry at all and was initially turned off by the huge poem that starts the book, but ended up loving it. Then I just thought it was awesome how Nabokov used the rest of the book referring back to the poem line by line to reveal a plot.

In short, I loved it.
