'Soccer' vs Football. So TRUE by Cowboy_Bebopin videos

[–]bunkbartrum 0 points1 point ago

The only reason Soccer is popular in the world is because it's easily enjoyed by the poor and uneducated.

Soccer is more brute and speed and juggling, so anybody can pick it up and play. As for football, it takes studying film, studying body language (player tendencies), identifying your options of which is the best play available from the hundreds of pages of the playbook you memorized, and executing the best decision based on scenario and actual moment.

Soccer is not jazz. It's speed metal. Football can be speed metal too(power running game/ pounding the ball), but in general it's more like jazz-- where it can be calculated and freestyled. QB receives a play, QB reads the Defense's play, QB disregards the play received and Audibles (changes original play sent by coach) to the next best play against what the Defense projects, Defense sees that QB recognizes their play and therefore they change their play, QB sees this change and therefore changes the play (Hot Route) by identifying best target and conveys to his Offensive Weapon--from a look, a shout or a 'random' word, or another form of language expression-- that a new play is now being ran and it's going to you. All of these decisions for a calculated estimate of inches... All of this recognition of system, choreography, body language and time management in a matter of seconds... Soccer doesn't have this complexity and creativity, and it never will. Soccer is run, pass, run, run, pass, fake an injury, pass, run, attempt goal, turn the ball over, pass, turn the ball over, run, etc...

Those that don't understand Football don't see the language, the math, and the psychology in the sport. The only concept that I can see Soccer transcending beyond physical execution is the occasional use of geometry.

Other Musings:

*Soccer fans say, "well in Soccer, players don't wear pads!" Does that make Soccer players tougher? Not at all. Football is a contact sport. It's more violent and much more physical than Soccer. Soccer players rely more on cardio and faking injuries for a competitive edge.

*Soccer fans might ask, "why is it called Football, when you hold it and run with it, and you throw it..." Football is grounded on the player's feet. From the QB having the proper footwork/stance in the pocket or when throwing the ball on the run, to the Lineman's stance in pass blocking or their footwork in run blocking, and then to Running Backs, TEs, and Receivers cutting, misdirecting, and running routes... The physical aspect of Football starts at the feet, then it progress in the steps you take or how you position your stance, and the rest is takeoff with your feet. Hence football. As for Soccer... Kickball.

My GF used to do the same thing! It drove me fucking nuts. Now we have an agreement; we pretty much take turns deciding where to eat, and if no one can come to a decision, then the other gets to pick.

How did you deal with the loss of your dog? by drostylesin AskReddit

When my stupid stoner brother had accidentally let my pet cockatiel fly away, I was a complete wreck. The bird was like a son to me-- always welcoming me when I came home from work, and always flying to me whenever he was taken out of his cage. I dealt with the loss of my pet trough "healthy distractions." I volunteered at a few local nonprofits, spent time on a creative project that I had put off (a comic book script), reconnected with an old friend, took a road trip, and I went and saw many bands I've never seen before. I guess, I'd suggest taking little steps when moving on, but of course, never forget. A little mixture of distraction and remembrance, if that makes sense... Good luck, and stay strong, and I'm sorry for your loss.

If there's not much around campus, create one. I know it's hard to get this rollin' but I guess in some sick way, that's one of the interesting parts in life-- struggling, striving, suffering then BAM! Results and possbile outcomes. We all have the ability to create something. Whether it's change or opportunity in life, or a playground for children.

I used to feel like shit just like you. Then for some reason, I got masochistic... In the sense where I embraced some sort of fuck it, I don't care if I get my heart broken attitude. I don't care if I get humiliated. I figure, I don't need to care about myself or what happens, I'm jsut go through life in a series of trial and error. But somewhere along the line, I became aware. I realize need to be rational. There is no official meaning in life, and the only way I can come close to that is by being dynamic-- constantly looking for answers. Sorry if this is a rant. But in short, I found that if I can't be happy, I can be kinda happy for someone who is TRULY happy. I think you need to look for THAT, whether it's through charity or creating your own art, or whatever. I hope you find it soon.

Right now, you can't help yourself with this (as cliche as it's gonna sound, only time will help you get over this), so therefore you should/could be helping others. People forget how sometimes selflessness and service can lead you to a good routine. Maybe volunteering with a non-profit whose mission you agree with, or serving as support for someone battling a disease... Being alone with your thoughts never helps.

I say healthy, but productive distractions that make room for conversations should sorta help you out.
