I find Kemper fascinating. I wish there was a decent book about him.

I think it's Robert Ressler who tells a story about interviewing Kemper. It was just the two of them in an interview room, and Kemper explained how the guards were in the midst of a shift change, and there wouldn't be anybody available to intervene for 15 minutes or so.

And 15 minutes, Kemper explained, was more than enough time for him to come across the table and kill Ressler with his bare hands.

Yeah, Paris is quickly becoming a hot story.

Also, Bremerton, Washington (a small town west of Seattle) may have a thrill killer hunting.

My feeling is that both were very much involved in the killings. The interesting question to me is, which was the dominant personality. Conventional wisdom is that Paul was, but I'm not so sure.

I hadn't heard that, but source material on Kemper is a bit sketchy. I thought the crime scene backed up much of his confession.

Is the house still standing? Does the town promote that connection, or is embarrassed by it?

I find it interesting how different towns react to such notoriety.

Did your neighbor kill his own mother with a claw hammer, use her severed head for oral sex, and stuff her vocal cords down the garbage disposal? Because Ed Kemper did. ;-)

Well, they've got him on DNA on one, so that's pretty solid. Connecting in the others was certainly circumstantial, but I've seen convictions on less solid ground, for sure.
