I read census records for fun. :) I see Shaffer, L. David, Hester, David Jr. Fran, Tom and Molly J. I agree with the others that the Fran is difficult. If you could look at the census before or after you could most likely figure that part out. HTH

A small UPDATE: I sent a note in to the teacher in my daughter's folder this morning and it came back in her folder unread and unanswered. The emailing didn't work before obviously and she apparently doesn't read notes either. I am now writing everything out in order to take to the Principal.

Believe me, it's strange to me too. I feel she has a problem with me. I can't think of any reason other than I'm involved at the school and I can't really imagine why that would make her hate me. :(

Thanks for your reply! As I said on the other comment I'm going to try one more time with the teacher. I'm sending a note in the morning to request a conference asap. She is an older teacher...I think she's been teaching 20-30 years. So, I don't really expect her to change all her ways, but I do expect her ways to be acceptable to me as the parent.

Thanks for your perspective! I feel that we've tried to be forgiving of it being a new year and so forth but it has to end somewhere. I am sending a note in tomorrow to ask for a conference asap. If that gets no response I will go directly to the Principal. I kind of feel weird since the Principal and I are on a first name basis and somewhat friends through my PTA work at the school. I don't want anything to look inappropriate for either of us at the school. At the end of the day this is my child and I just cannot stand this incompetence and cattiness anymore.

I didn't mention it but my daughter is also an early reader! She could read before she started kindy and she was tested at the end of kindy as reading at an upper 3rd grade level. She is reading chapter books on her own with ease. (Junie B. Jones etc.) I brought this up to the teacher at the Meet the Teacher and she told me there was no way my daughter could be that advanced. There is no way she could comprehend the material. So that was our first ever encounter and it's gone downhill ever since.

I will update for sure. I am probably going to go to the principal with my concerns this week.

I do feel removing her from the class is a last resort option but what about all of her friends she'd have to leave? Wouldn't that just be more punishment for my daughter?
