The only couple I knew who tried this ended in divorce. It seems the biggest problem was that she had many more outside sexual options. He wasn't tremendously bothered by this. Then she ended up falling in love with another man and leaving him.
This is an anecdotal tale, but I would imagine that it is inevitable in any relationship that one person will be more "wanted". And this will cause problems.
