You seem very intelligent and are very well spoken. Often, people who are intelligent and artistic are prone to depression. If you aren't seeing anyone for the depression/insomnia, you should be, they can help you. Also, any sort of artistic outlet may help, you express yourself very well, do you keep a journal or anything? I've found it helpful in my own struggle with depression. And, I know, it's hard to hear, but you'll get over that guy, it sucks right now, but you will be able to get past it. Good luck, I hope you get some sleep :)!!
