Male Birth Control: New Procedure Is 100 Percent Effective, Reversible by diggroin science

[–]algernon12321 0 points1 point ago

I think "perfection" like you're talking about is very different from the efficacy that this method is showing. If they are claiming 100% efficacy, then no babies have been produced by the men in this trial. Maybe that trend wont continue, but those are the results so far. No one has claimed that it's perfect and nothing better or easier will ever come along, just that it's been shown to be effective thus far.

How do you like working on Secret Life of the American Teenager? I watched the show off and on for the first few seasons, how do you feel about the way it's progressed? Do you think it is fulfilling an actual purpose or sending messages about teen sexual activity, or has it become just another tv show?

This is completely logical for theft and muggings, but the same simply cannot be said for rape.

Yes, a woman walking alone in a dangerous place dressed provocatively may be putting herself at risk. But people have a tendency to generalize all rape into these situations, which simply isn'"t the case. Most women are not raped walking down the street. They are raped by a friend or an acquaintance whose house they are at. They are raped by and uncle or a family friend or a babysitter when do one is looking. Even when dressed up at a party, looking nice is not an invitation to abuse someone. Rape doesn't always happen when a girl is grabbed and pulled into an alley, it happens when she says no and the person she is with doesn't listen. Yes, it can happen in back alleys, but that doesn't mean that the woman was dressed provocatively, she is just as likely to be wearing jeans and a hoodie.

Saying that all rape occurs because women are being irresponsible is like saying that all theft occurs because someone was irresponsible, irregardless of the number of locks that were broken through to get to that tv that was stolen.

Your diabetes analysis doesn't work the same. Diabetes can be caused by a person's actions, with no external influence. Rape, on the other hand, is caused by rapists. Sure, maybe you shouldn't be walking down dark alleys alone at night in your sexy Halloween costume, but the point is that saying girls are causing their rape by looking slutty puts the blame on the victim. In the vast majority of rape cases the women are not dressed in any particular manner and are not just walking down the street. They are with a friend or a family member or at a party or on a date. They are 5 years old or 19 years old or 40 years old. They did not do this to themselves. They did not disregard their health and eat too many donuts. They are normal, everyday women (and men) going about their business thinking that they are safe. It is not a victim's fault if a rapist thinks that they are an object to be dominated or used.

Preaching at women to not get raped isn't working. We need to start teaching "don't rape" instead of "don't get raped"

I think you are thinking thigh...? I'm talking about down by your ankle, but on the back

Well that works perfectly then! I think it'd be cool to get them in the same place, but if she really wants wrist and you think that's too feminine you could go for the back of your ankle/lower calf area. I think the branches would look cool splitting on the sides of your Achilles tendon, and then you would have a similar but not identical placement.

I have that on my hip, also my first and only. It's only been a couple of months, though, so there will be at least one more in the future.

Are you male? I thought the different shapes represent different genders, so you might want to alter this if you are both female. If not, carry on!

It's because they are ridiculously comfortable. I've been wearing my pair for 6 years and am disappointed to have to retire them. They are filled with fur and incredibly practical for walking around campus in the winter. I always tuck my pants in because they look awful with your pants over them and then your pants just get wet.

I agree that they should only be winter-wear and not paired with skirts, but I'll never understand how much people detest a simple pair of leather boots.

Miss Universe organizers have reversed a decision that disqualified a transgendered Canadian woman from participating in the pageant. by WillNyein worldnews

I think bathrooms have more to do with comfort of the people using them than the convenience or method of using them. As a female I would find it uncomfortable to have to walk past men at urinals in order to use the bathroom. I think men might also feel exposed or awkward about the situation.

A transgender woman may have a penis, but does the best she can to look like a woman. If she walks into a mens room, there will be awkward feelings all around, and maybe even harassment. Using a bathroom with people of your own gender feels more comfortable and safer, especially out at a bar or something crowded and rowdy. I'm on guard enough as a non-transgender woman, imagine the fear of being a non-traditional woman in harassment-prone places.

I've met people who love Algernon and people who hate it. I read it in ninth grade and it's what really sparked my interest in psychology. It's been ages since I've reread it. I'll check out some early Vonnegut and Oscar Wilde, you go read that. It started as a short story and then was fleshed out into a book, both are great but I recommend the full book.

Sorry, very late reply. I just got around to finishing it last night. I haven't read any other early Vonnegut, is a lot of it like this? There's a bit of Vonnegut in there, but a lot of it was just regular fiction that could have been written by anyone. Lots more emotion and more intricate wording than I'm used to for him.

No, they look tubular. It's an actual medical problem, Wikipedia!

I am by no means an expert in this, but I agree that those don't look like our perception of normal breasts OR the breasts that are usually seen in cultures that go topless like this.

I don't know if you're talking about the quote itself or the layout, but the quote is from John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word. and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

If you're talking about the layout, though, it took me a few seconds to figure out what was going on too.

I really liked Doll House because of this. I liked to pretend that after season seven of Buffy Faith decided to forget her dark past and entered herself into the Doll House to escape for a while.
