That's what people constantly debate over. Some of the tracks incorporate a 2-step pattern. But at the end of the day if it's supported by people like Skream and Benga, Breakage, Shy FX, Kutz, etc., it's dubstep to me.

It's a fairly new sub-genre of dubstep, currently under debate. Artists like Dismantle are at the forefront. It's essentially 140 BPM deep bass house with dutch influence.

I don't have a problem with it, since I see it more as paying homage to an old Hollywood trope, similar to how Quentin Tarantino pays his respects to something from film history in nearly all of his films. Of course it's cheesy and is going to sound out of place, but that's to be expected.

I absolutely despise any post that refers to something found as "this gem." In my experience, those posts tend to be the most karma whorish.

Example: "Found this gem in my grandma's attic today"...clicks link...Super Mario World. DOES ANYONE ELSE ON REDDIT LIKE MARIO OR AM I THE ONLY ONE?!?!?

Love these guys. I met Benga on a flight to Manchester for Creamfields and within 10 minutes of talking to him in line to board he texted his manager and gave us backstage and artist passes for the first day for free. My friend and I met Magnetic Man, Sgt. Pokes, and one of the Chemical Brothers. All really nice, down to earth guys.

I heard his mixing skills are questionable, any truth to that? I understand that when you're drunk/rolling it's usually whatever, but I generally have a good ear when it comes to judging a dj set's transitions.

Agreed, brostep is becoming shittier and shittier the more I listen to it. It's all starting to sound like Skrillex. I'm sure you've already heard this, but it's a short mix Dismantle put together for Skream and Benga's BBC Radio 1 show awhile back, I can definitely get down to this

Pretty funny that his initial gripe is that people are going to rip the tracks and distribute them for free, then about halfway through his rant he changes his mind and says he'll release them for free himself.

Exactly those. Although "Computation" does get annoying pretty quickly. I definitely agree that too much of it is a bad thing. Sot what I generally do in my own sets is drop 2-3 of these songs in a row followed by a transition back to regular dubstep or I'll slow down the tempo to bring it down to house.

If anyone is interested, most tracks that Dismantle is putting out these days is this style, such as "Clone" and "Get On It."

Another one of my favorites is "Punani" by Giant. Starts out with this 4x4 structure and then transitions to a traditional dubstep beat halfway through.

I've been car camping for the past 2 years, and have honestly never hooked up. I even had a girlfriend the first year, there's just way too many other things that get in the way, like: too tired, too fucked up, being considerate of the people camping with you/your neighbors. In terms of a make out sesh, I'm sure you'll be able to find some girls at the Sahara to dance with and stuff. Just be yourself, enjoy yourself, and let it come naturally.
