Ah, yes, cats just mirror the behavior you give them, oh what a beautiful, naive world you live in.

I've seen more cats in my life than I care to tell, but I'll share this: they are, without a doubt, born with certain characteristics that love, hate, abuse, or coddling won't get rid of. They are obstinate little shits in that regard. It's also why I love them--they have definite personalities and don't give a shit about changing to fit your needs.

When my dad was in his early 20s, he went to a Scientology meeting out of pure curiosity. He left 10 minutes into the service after they stood and clapped while facing a picture of L. Ron Hubbard. The next week, when he didn't attend, they called him. He told them he was not going to join the church after all; he was forced to hang up, as the man who called would not stop trying to convince him to return.

A week later, they started calling his mother (whom he lived with at the time) 4-5 times per week. This continued for a month. When they stopped answering their phones altogether, two men in a black sedan started parking outside their house, regularly verbally confronting them whenever they left or arrived from the house. The police were involved at that point by my father, and the visits stopped.

Thirty years later my dad still occasionally receives pamphlets and propaganda material in the mail at a completely different address. They called me two months ago; I have no idea how they got my number.

Scientology is a cult and a fraud and it scares the shit out of me that people take it seriously and think it should be a tax exempt organization (i.e., church) when it is clearly organized fraud on a grand scale.

We played this on New Year's Eve in a hotel when we were drunk. I was the first to find the girl who was hiding, who is now my current fiancee. (We had about 30 minutes along together in which conversation and heavy petting were had.)

Oh, yeah! I cycle semi-competitively. The general consensus on keto is that the only time a carb-heavy diet is superior to keto is if you're exerting yourself fully (so, maybe for Crossfit or wind sprints or something along those lines) where you are at 90-100 percent of your work rate maximum. Otherwise, it at least seems like keto is superior for endurance training. My own experiences match the general consensus, especially in terms of consistency; whenever I go biking now, I tend to have a great workout and a nice workrate whereas previously it was a toss of the dice.

In short, zero dropoff, and possibly an increase in short and long term endurance. I'm pleased!

As for supplements, I take something called C4 before lifting. For biking, nada. Maybe a small snack so I don't get hungry mid-ride?

That said, if you're still in the keto flu, transitional period, yeah, workouts really suck. :)

The reason you don't have that impulse is probably because you aren't very sexually experienced in terms of partner variety, confirmed by your comment about being linked to her in your mind concerning sex.

You have to remember that many--nay, most people--struggle significantly with finding satisfaction with one sexual partner. It can work--obviously--but most people at least experience a common, if fleeting desire to have sex with others. You have bound it to emotional commitment--but others have moved past that (not to sound like you're lower on the ladder, just a figure of speech) and separated sex from emotional attraction/commitment.

Rarely do couples' sexual perspectives align perfectly; so the drama goes. :)

I can't answer your question, but I would like to weigh-in on strength training while on keto. It's been 2.5 months for me, and all my core lifts have gone up 5-15 percent. My OHP alone increased from 175 to 203 in a matter of weeks. Probably in part due to the high protein content of my diet, but also probably because I'm simply eating healthier, sleeping better, and feeling more even levels of energy throughout the day.

I say all this because I know a lot of people think that serious weight training/lifting can't be done while on keto, but that's simply not true; for me, at least, a longtime serious lifter, I've found my workouts are better than they ever were, thanks mostly to keto.

Whole Foods sells a dark chocolate bar made by Lily's Sweets that has ~6 net carbs per huge bar. It's been my go-to snack for days when I crave something sweet. Although... it is about 5 bucks per bar, so I've been experimenting with making my own chocolate as of late using Stevia as the sweetening agent. Great results so far!

Yeah the only beer I allow myself while on keto is Stella Artois, mostly because it has a hint of flavor and is under 10 net carbs. I'm a huge craft beer fan so it's been rough going the last couple months...

Yeah, I understand. I think it'd be impossible for me to go back to a high-carb diet now. 100g a day would probably be the most I could handle, even after getting below my goal weight, ya know?

I'm lazy, too. I've given up on a few recipes, but mostly I just try to stick with ones now with less than 6 ingredients.

All I know is, I'm hoping to get to the point where I can have 3-4 beers once a week without killing my results! :)

Your body seems to become more sensitive to what you feed it while on keto. For me, mixed drinks (especially stuff with diet pop and sugar-free mixers) just made me feel sick to my stomach. That sweetness just doesn't sit well with the vaguely heavy feeling of alcohol in the stomach. I basically drink scotch straight now when I want a buzz, but I have mostly just stopped drinking altogether (which, ultimately, is a good thing).

I really miss beer. Not going to lie.

Yep! It can be a major pain during transition. My energy levels sucked, I basically had a terrible flu for 5 days, and had to literally force myself to eat. Then, during week 2, everything fell into place. My workouts increased in intensity and I started getting stronger while dropping weight (I literally increased my maximums in all my core lifts by 5-15 percent in the first month of keto)! Hang in there--it's an awkward week or two to start.

The point of this post is to show new keto'ers what you can expect with an ongoing keto diet

After three months of doing keto with my fiancee (female), I can tell you why the phrase above is problematic: weight loss varies hugely with each individual. I, for instance, almost immediately lost 9 pounds (in the first week). Then I plateaued for about a month, losing a total of 1.5 more pounds over that period. At about the 7-week-mark, I lost another 5 pounds seemingly over a weekend. I am now at 192, and losing about a quarter pound a day (presumably until I hit my goal weight of 185). My fiancee, on the other hand, immediately lost 3 pounds in 5 days, then stabilized and lost a very static amount of weight over the next few weeks (roughly a pound a week, almost like clockwork).

Some of us hit plateaus--I did my best to stay at my caloric level (1800 a day, plus exercise) while hitting my macros, drinking tons of water, and staying in ketosis... and eventually I broke through. As a general rule, the younger you are, the more likely you'll be able to drown tons of weight pretty quickly.

I generally cheat for 1 meal a week and eat carbs.

Some of us are VERY sensitive to slipping out of ketosis. I'm limited to 25g of carbs a day, net, or I will slip out and have to go through three long, miserable days to get back into ketosis (verified by ketostix). It's hell for me--literally worse than being sick. My fiancee? 24-36 hours of mild fuzziness and she's back on track. For her, cheating once a week or two works great. For me, it is simply just not worth it until I reach my goal weight. I really fucking miss beer, though, not going to lie.

I really don't mess with "fake pizza" or "fake deserts" or whatever low carb frankenfood recipe of the week is on /r/keto. Those are cool and all and if you're in to that rock it out, but spending an hour, 2 pots and pans, and following complicated instructions

Completely disagree. In 10 minutes, we made zero/low-carb chocolate balls with almond sprinkles, protein powder, baker's chocolate, and liquid stevia, into absolutely amazing post-workout treats. This is a bi-weekly thing for us--trying new, easy recipes and generally having favorable results! In fact, most of the replacement breads are actually quite easy to make, and the ingredient list is almost always simple to compile.

I do, in general, agree with the philosophy that simple (i.e., meats and veggies and fats) are the way to go for the vast majority of meals.
