How did you take Andy Whitfields death? I loved the video you guys made, and I wish he were still here.

Does anyone countdown (10, 9, 8... etc) to help small, monotonous tasks or waits go by quicker? by buddyholly92in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]TransRational 0 points1 point ago

HOLY SHIT! YES! I do this when putting on my clothes after a shower. I give myself 10 seconds for every article of clothing. Some things I can put on quicker than others (t-shirt as opposed to a button-up) so I allow for time overlap. However, if I'm only putting on 9 articles of clothing (shirt, button-up, pants, underwear, belt, socks and shoes) I get a mac of 90 seconds. I like to pretend if I don't make it I'll die.

A little-known solution to Starbucks coffee: ask for a pour over. Really? They do this? by smekasin Coffee

Nope. Let me know please. And I hope you didn't downvote me for voicing my opinion and clarrifying incorrect statements in the article. That's poor rediquete.

A little-known solution to Starbucks coffee: ask for a pour over. Really? They do this? by smekasin Coffee

[–]TransRational 5 points6 points ago

Article is exaggerated at worse, flowery at best, and just plain wrong even in it's attempt to say something positive about Starbucks. Their coffee does not 'sit there' for hours. It sits there for (maximum) 32 minutes, is discarded if unused, and replaced with a new batch. They brew four coffee types during peak - decaf pike, pike, bold and blonde (set to 8 minute timer replacement). I would love to see ANY high-volume independent coffee shop produce better results than that. Also, if you go in the evening and get a decaf or blonde roast, it's almost undoubtedly a pour over anyway.

How should my league decide its draft order? by jmorlinin fantasyfootball

[–]TransRational 3 points4 points ago

Last year my league had a karma contest. We were all giving random pre-selected throw-away accounts at the same time and for 24 hours we had to generate the most link karma possible. The amount of karma you earned determined your draft order. One of us made it to the front page flex We had a couple weeks to prepare (i.e. collect funny photo's, determine strategy of what subreddits we'd post too, etc.) It was pretty epic. Found out how hard it is to game the karma train, for example, three of us lived in the same house using the same I.P. address and reddit quickly flagged us for spamming, so we either went somewhere else to post or rotated. Good times.

Jack the Lion. Their best song imo. The way it touches your soul is amazing. And yes, my father is still alive and well.

Hayden Smith has got some charisma. by deafdingoin nfl

[–]TransRational 0 points1 point ago

Look...um...umm...I didn't see a whole lot of charisma bleed through on this interview. What I did see was a guy who recognizes the challenging road ahead. Having played Rugby for quite awhile, I'm interested to see how his grit and team synergy play out on the football field.

GI Glasses AKA Birth Control Glasses by rhs856in wikipedia

[–]TransRational 11 points12 points ago

Got mine 10 years ago. Couldn't have paid me to wear them back then, in fact I wore contacts throughout bootcamp and my RDC was none the wiser (Battle Stations sucked though..esp. the gas chamber). Anyway, a few months ago my contacts were bugging me so I decided to rock the ole BCG's. Can't STOP getting compliments on them. People keep asking me what brand they are and where I got them. And yeah, I get laid all the time.

Never ever get tired of watching that play. If you're not smiling, you're not a football fan. PERIOD.

The worst type of fan(true story) by kanyewestandjayzin nfl

[–]TransRational 13 points14 points ago

Packers fan here. People often ask me if I ever grew up in Wisconsin. When I tell them I've never been to the state they'll invariably ask "So why are you a Packers fan?" Fair enough. But my answer is never appreciated. I grew up in a military family, we moved every few years to a different state. When I was about 12 or so, I was the only person in my family watching sports. When I started watching football I simply liked the colors of the Green Bay Packers. That's it. I picked my team based on their colors. Stupid right? Whatever, I was twelve. But I have since then, NEVER looked back. I will always be a Packers fan and one day hope to visit Lambeau field.

[–]TransRational -1 points0 points ago

Big fucking deal. It was that OR DROWN. 3 miles...breaking to dead float for awhile..even without flotation devices this isn't as hard as you might think. Traumatic - yes. But I think it's fair to say any 'average joe' could pull it off as well.
