great, cheers. Don't suppose anyone knows of any videos that maybe show how awesome PvP can be in eve? The ones I've seen so far tend to be sped up or otherwise confusing as all hell.

Well he put 6 years into WoW, the latter part of which was entirely achievement grinding, so clearly pretty patient. He quit TOR after a couple months because it was 'like WoW but not WoW so I'll just play WoW', I think the key may be to get him into PvP as soon as possible. And we haven't started yet like I said, I think he may know some people already playing so hopefully we can jump in with them, but the tricky bit is making him START, once started I think it'll be smooth sailing.

Armageddon steel legion are an oldie but a goodie. You'll need a fuckload of chimeras and to be playing heavily 'objective capture' based games rather than straight up set up and shoots since there's no point getting forward quickly if there's no value in it.

I get your point but I don't learn a lot from getting rolled on 8 or 9 minutes because I'm not physically capable of producing enough to defend the push even though I know it's coming. I was against a diamond/platinum last night lol. I was looking for a less demoralising solution!

I played for 2 months back in 2009 and I'm thinking of coming back this summer with a few peeps. When I quit my alliance had given me a fair amount of stuff (for a newb), I guess I maybe had around 50,000 ISK, is that now worth less then? Also is there any way for me to check my character (where they are, what they have etc) without paying? I need to get past exams before signing up again or it will destroy my life :/

of course its real, if someone had a) this level of knowledge about how Valve work and b) the level of technical ability to sit down and write this off their own bat, then they'd probably be working at Valve

not just carroll mate, i know the EPL has to uphold its reputation as tough tackling etc but week in week out centre backs are bear hugging forwards at corners and not a fuck is given by any of the refs.
