TROPHY CASE

As he would stand in front of his men handing them white envelopes of cash, a chant would rise up from the fired-up defenders: "Give it back! Give it back! Give it back!" Many players would do just that, to beef up the pot and make the stakes bigger as the season went on. by ihateyoursisterin nfl

That Goodell says he has that none of us has ever seen. If someone told you hey one of your family members commited a crime and I have the evidence you would want to see the evidence yourself not just go off of their word that it exists. Sorry, nope.

Randy Moss lights it up in his Saints workout by supertruck97in nfl

Who cares? Sign him for a one year deal. If he acts up cut him. He's a great athlete, eats well, is motivated for that ring with little time left and any coach that brings him in is going to let him known where he stands on the team. I think people are putting too much stock in his attitude. I hope Payton keeps him around.

It isn't the end of the world - yet. The same thing happened with Manning. They still have time to get a deal worked out.

For Christ's sake, really? Because we were the ONLY TEAM with a bounty program? Give me a fucking break.

Can someone explain to me where this information came from? Because right now it sounds like a bunch of oversensationalized BS.

I am beyond pissed at my team right now but what I am looking for is facts from Goodell and not shit like this. If this is factual information from Goodell that has been leaked than that is even more fucked up.

Right now all I have to go on is a twitter statement by GW, random information put out by Goodell that is at this point completely one sided and a bunch of media fapping off at a giant NFL news story in an otherwise quiet period.

The hit that may have possibly began Peyton Manning's neck troubles (IND vs WAS 2006), pretty gruesome by aznsacboiin nfl

[–]Thunderjugs 0 points1 point ago

Honestly I would not be surprised to find out he has some form of spinal stenosis. It's weird for both him and Cooper to have such severe neck problems but not be related in any way.

Either way I have multiple neck issues and the pain can be excruciating. My heart goes out to Peyton.

Before next season starts, can we agree to not call every late/"dirty" shot a bounty? by anotheranotherotherin nfl

[–]Thunderjugs 0 points1 point ago

Sadly I am new to /NFL and looked forward to hanging out here this upcoming season but I doubt that I will because I don't want to spend the entire time pissed off for this reason alone. I will probably just stick to my Saints forum.

I am also already tired of seeing all the whining Vikings fans saying they would have won the championship without a bounty (the Farve bounty is hersay, btw) which is just retarded. It's called holding onto the ball people, just like we should have done against the Niners.

Saints fan here...I think I speak for all of us when I say that we are pissed off and disappointed about everything that has come out, but we are more pissed that our defense was cheating and we were even terrible at that. by esbernin nfl

I agrre and it's been said by multiple other logically thinking non-Saint fan Redditors that while it's unethical it's not cheating.

Report: Between 22 and 27 Saints defensive players maintained a bounty program, led by DC Gregg Williams by bonishjwhsin nfl

[–]Thunderjugs 26 points27 points ago

  • So pissed. Something I been proud of is how the Saints look for "high character" players. I can't say if that isn't true or if they just got caught up in the game up but I can't be proud of that now.

  • The Saints will probably never live this down and the fans get to reap the benefits. I love this team and I don't want to love a dirty team. It's fucking bullshit.

  • The refs will probably be up our ass now and so will other teams. I wouldn't doubt that other teams come full speed for our QB...possibly Brees, if he still wants to be a Saint.

  • Every hit from the past 3 seasons looks questionable now and so will every one from here on out, regardless of how legal it was/is. Warner already came out and said the hit on him was completely legal, regardless of it was paid for or not, and said it did not send him into retirement because he was already going to retire but Deadspin has already started running with it. I'm sure Warner doesn't want to look like a pussy and it's probably annoying him.

  • If this is a league wide thing, and it looks like it is, then the NFL needs to investigate it and not just make the Saints the poster child for it. If the Redskins had a program then investigate the Redskins.

  • I hope Greg Williams is removed from the NFL for good. Fuck him for doing this. I hope all of the players involved are suspended.

  • I can't believe they tarnished our Superbowl season. I just can't believe it. Anything but that season, the ONLY ONE. How selfish CAN YOU BE?

It wasn't just the Saints: Redskins also had a bounty system for big hits by brosenauin nfl

Is the humane society trustworthy? by wookie4747in dogs

I never said I supported BSL. I have 2 pits and I am fully against BSL. You said there is no research behind any of the things you listed and I said there was, not that I was for or against any of it.

I also never said I supported PETA, the discussion was on HSUS. You seem to have an issue with adding words that were never written.

I worked closely for years with regional directors of the HSUS on multiple cases and I am fully aware of how they operate, thanks. They have personally helped my friends and I with things that otherwise could not have been accomplished. Like I already said, people have to keep in mind the things I already mentioned in regards to any group like theirs. It's not all sunshine and rainbows but they have a lot of power that can be used to the animal's advantage.

And stop putting words in people's mouths.

[–]Thunderjugs 0 points1 point ago

Actually you have a ton of misinformation here so I am assuming you have not done a lot of research or have experience with much of what you posted. Hsus is not for the removal of people from pets and I have no idea where you even got that from. Peta and HSUS are nowhere near the same organization. There is a lot of research behind anti-tethering, BSL, spay/neuter, etc. Obviously you need to sit down and do a lot of reading before entering back into a serious debate about such a big topic.

What is one 'medical' condition that someone you know claims they have that drives you up a wall? by RayADropofGoldenSunin AskReddit

[–]Thunderjugs 1 point2 points ago

What drives me crazy is people who are bipolar but refuse to stay on medication and take care of themselves. With many people it can be controlled and is at the very least worth the effort. When people refuse to even try, especially when they tell everyone they know they are bipolar in order to get attention, it worsens the bipolar stigma making it even harder on people with bipolar disorder that work to stay balanced and live healthy lives.

It sounds like your typical animal case here in Texas/the South. A bunch of BS misinformation, the laws are poorly written, everyone is pointing fingers, the owners are idiots, no one knows what's happening and all of the animals suffer because of it. It's really more a problem with the situation I think than the article - I see it every day.

Is the humane society trustworthy? by wookie4747in dogs

[–]Thunderjugs 1 point2 points ago

With every organization that promotes an important cause we have to be use our heads, remember that they can't take on everything, they need the fame and money to keep running, there will be a mix of shady and good people running the show and that ultimately the benefits usually outweigh the bs in relation to the cause (most of the time.)

The HSUS runs on money. They need to do dumb shit like bring Mike Vick on board to get their name out there. They will also end up taking on larger cases that will bring them fame. At the same time they are the lifeline to animals in emergencies like hurricane Katrina, constantly involved in puppy mill and dog fighting ring raids, etc. They provide free animal cruelty training to police departments and animal compassion programs to schools. In the long run they are a worldwide leader in the animal rights movement and animals are better off for it.
