Am I the only one who finds it odd that Carmelo was voted for something because of his defense?

Question for anyone whose account was compromised. by TheRealDrCubein Diablo

[–]TheRealDrCube[S] 0 points1 point ago

But don't you think this makes account compromises a little more scary. I mean, unless they can find a better way to restore accounts most people better just hope they never get hacked or else. My only silver lining was that I got hacked a few days after launch and I didn't really lose much.

I never played WoW, what about the system there makes it easier to roll back accounts (if it is easier that is).

IGN just gave Diablo 3 a 9.5, do you think this is a fair score? by VodkaMonsterin Diablo

The game can now be played at 800x600 resolution, up from 640x480.

This was a big one.

But is it that difficult to see which account acted as the mule for my account's compromise? I don't see how it is easier to track the auction house. When I talked to Blizzard tech, they said they could see where all my items and gold had gone to.

Bynum's post game interview... just sickening. I don't want him as a Laker anymore.

Questions for those who have been hacked by CCK_in Diablo

[–]TheRealDrCube 0 points1 point ago

  1. North America
  2. Played one (maybe two) public games.
  3. I think the compromise occurred a day or two after the public game, I don't fully remember though.
  4. I didn't have authenticator (I know big fail... but I never played WoW so I didn't really know about them.
  5. leiyong, the mule who took my items/gold (and davesabeast, he is not on my list but my friend who was watching my hacked account saw him get my items and gold from leiyong).
  6. My password could have been better...

PSA: Regarding Limited Restorations by perform91in Diablo

[–]TheRealDrCube 0 points1 point ago

That is unlucky. My account was also hacked but rather than lose levels they just used a restoration point after the compromise took place... so basically I still lost all of my items and gold and still lost a restoration.

[–]TheRealDrCube 0 points1 point ago

That makes sense. What I figured was that the only restoration point available before the compromise occured must have been at a much lower level... but I would have preferred them to at least tell me anything about why they even bothered to use a restoration point at all if the one they used didn't change anything.

What I don't understand is how could a restoration point created during the compromise possibly be the best one available? They can't/don't tell you anything on the phone because only the "Game Masters" have any power, and they don't have access to phones... ALSO the accounts associated with my compromise ("leiyong" and "davesabeast") are still online! One ("davesabeast") of them even whispered a friend of mine... this is so fucked up. The hackers got to keep my items and gold and they didn't even get their accounts taken down. I have never said this, and it truly pains me, but Blizzard, I am disappoint.

I got hacked on saturday and they restored my account using a restoration point created during the compromise, meaning all my gold and items were still missing.... this is the ticket response I got when I expressed my displeasure

Hi there!

My apologies for having missed you while you were online. Our wait times are a bit long, however we are actively working on getting them back to normal. I would have preferred to chat with you in game. Fortunately, I think I have all the information I need to handle your ticket.

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the recent compromise restoration.

I have looked into this matter for you and have some additional information. When a restoration is completed it is instantaneous, as we simply roll back the account, to a the save point closest to the time of the compromise. These restorations are final. :( In this case the last save point was during the compromise. We are simply unable to see which save point may be the most beneficial for a player, to get all characters on the account back to how they were before, as that would be to time consuming.

May all your adventures be epic.

Does that work for the mobile authenticators which constantly change the authentication number?

Yeah, it made me realize how naive I was. I made super hard passwords an put sms protection as well as a authenticator.

So I actually got hacked... by TheRealDrCubein diablo3

[–]TheRealDrCube[S] 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, you are right, that does make more sense. I still cant believe that Blizzard restored my account to a restoration point that was created during the attack an then told me they couldn't do anything about it. Also the hackers account where he transferred all of my items is still active, the hacker even whispered my friend who saw him transfer the items "hello". I dont understand, blizzard know who the hacker is but they dont do anything about it.

As someone who never played WoW and didn't really know much about authenticators I can confirm this. I was hacked yesterday. Sadly the restoration point blizzard game master used was during compromise so I lost all my items and gold anyways... But yeah, with the mobile authenticator I can't imagine that hacking would be even possible (im sure someone will find a way...)

Blizzard just banned all forum accounts who posted in the error 33 support thread. by DukeJanin diablo3

[–]TheRealDrCube 1 point2 points ago

Okay here is my point. The players are complaining correct? I assume for them, the ideal outcome would be for Blizzard to apologize and fix everything in a very short amount of time. They have apologized for the problems, but I don't think its possible for them to fix everything as fast as everyone wants. That being said... obviously it would have been ideal for them to have somehow fixed the problems before launch but... well they didn't. So the only outcome of everyone spamming them with complaints is just to vent. That is fine, but people shouldn't act like complaining is somehow going to fix everything.
