It took about an hour to photograph thanks to the remote shutter. I moved quickly because I didn't want the light from the windows to change very much. Editing took around 3 hours, from choosing which pose versions to use, layering, and erasing. I starting planning it to be smaller scale but I thought it would fill the frame better with additional people in otherwise dead or unbalanced areas so I just went for it.

I like your recent photo, you did a good job with even tones, shadows, and clean edges on each person. You might start experimenting with interactions between the versions of you, just to make it seem more like they were all caught sharing that moment in time together. For example, an easy and fun one to do is to have two of them appear to be in mid conversation. I went to a lot of trouble to make the two guys on the couch high five, then ended up blocking it with the guitarist anyway :O

I modified a Transformers Bumblebee battle blaster by removing most of the outer shell, repainting it, adding wires and chains, and putting a taplight on the end so I could turn it on. I got it signed by all the members of the band!

I wasn't sure how to handle this, I was really proud of the work I did and was hoping for better exposure when I first posted it. I realized it's better for gaming anyway but I thought if I straight reposted I'd be downvoted for that, so I figured I'd at least be honest about it.

It is unintentional! What is it?

No, that outfit's actually part of a Megaman costume (Protomen style) that I wore to Pax one year. No motorcycle.

I decided on the overall layout and what I wanted myselves to be doing, then did a focus test on the drummer as the center of the photo. I used a remote shutter so I never had to touch the camera for any reason (It's why I'm making so many fists), but it also meant I didn't get to review the photos as I took them. I took many versions of each me so I could later select which ones fit best in the overall image.

The compositing was easier than I thought, I layered the images from front to back, erasing my way up. The main trick to making it look somewhat believable is to watch legs and shadows. They're both really easy to erase or cover up by accident. Most of the work was lots of really zoomed in small brush erasing.

Hair is the biggest problem. That's why the singer's hair looks weird!

Exactly, I layered from back to front, then used the erase tool as I went up. Since the background didn't change I only had to do close erasing when I crossed over myself. I used GIMP since I can't afford photoshop!

Mondo in Austin, TX kind of did this this past halloween when they showed Dawn of the Dead in a local Mall for a mystery movie event.

Basically people bought tickets for a Mystery Movie and poster and were told to meet at a local Church parking lot. Everyone assumed the movie would be the Exorcist or something due to the location, but we were thrown for a loop when tour buses starting pulling up. We Got on them, then had a police escort across the city to a local dying mall.

As we pulled up, zombies starting beating the sides of the buses, smearing blood along the sides. We were told to wait on the bus until it was clear, then we were let out to the sounds of gunfire as police forces held back the zombies. We were told to run for our lives into the mall, as the police forces were being overrun and eaten in front of us!

We all got into the main hall of the mall and were greeted with a projection screen and rows of chairs. It was pretty clear what movie we were seeing by then. The zombies watched menacingly from the second floor and George Romero came out to speak!

The best part for me is that I decided to go to the event in costume (since it was so close to Halloween) but I really wanted to bring my new camera. So looking at my closet, I came up with the perfect costume... Frank West.

I had no idea what the movie was or where it was going to be held.

It was an AWESOME coincidence.

Incan Gold. You can teach it in 10 minutes and you can see the sparkle of greed in everyone's eyes almost immediately. Rounds are quick and still exciting for those doing badly (all or nothing!) and for those playing it safe (I hope everyone else gets crushed in a rockslide!)
