And when you're making an argument, when you learn what you can't say-after enough time of running out of things to say, you won't have an argument ;) Also, trying to argue for jewish rights with a guy whose last name is Finkelstein, I mean really how dumb do you have to be. That's right up there with Goldberg.

Maybe it's a democratic presentation where everyone gets a voice if there's enough time. And it's sometimes the most opposite idea/belief which leads to the deepest explanation. People don't learn much when everyone agrees with them

Heaven forbid you choose style over practicality. It's about impressing guests you have over, or when that girl comes back to your place to actually be amazed by something. I'm not big on fashion and all that jazz, but the occasional really cool piece of furniture is nice.

All it takes is one. I go to UTSA, we have an amazing student body. But then there's radicals in Atheist Agenda who push their beliefs on students as bad as diehard christians. And then there's christian organizations, one of which has a member who stood in the middle of campus saying how everyone was going to hell yada yada yada. All it takes is one. The rest of the people in the christian orgs are nice, diehard christians, but they're not batshit insane. And the campus as a whole is nice. The end.

Suppose I am in a line of a few cars (say 5), driving on the highway in the left lane. All are traveling 15 mph over the posted speed limit. If we pass a speed trap, which position in the line is more likely to get stopped by the police? by welliamwallacein AskReddit

[–]SubmittedToDigg 0 points1 point ago*

Had an officer wave down me and 2 others going 83 in a 70 on the freeway. I was second in line, the cop was giving a ticket to the 3rd car first. When the first car drove away, I followed suit and nothing happened to either of us. Never thought much of it to be honest.

Germans who have parents or grandparents who participated in WWII. What have they told you? by no_username_for_mein AskReddit

[–]SubmittedToDigg 2 points3 points ago

When I was ~8 I asked my grandfather if he was in WWII. He said he was, I got excited and asked about it. He didn't say much, but when I asked if he ever threw a grenade I think he said one or two, but that he was on a boat in the navy, implying grenades and that sort weren't really what he dealt with. My parents told me it was rude to ask and pretty much shut me up. I just found out over thanksgiving break he was specifically on a battleship, and thats as much as I know.

There's this loop, and you're not in it. I feel like you legitimately missed the reference, but I've been there. Very viral video. Very. Youtube "I Like Turtles". Then you'll be in the loop. :)

[–]SubmittedToDigg -1 points0 points ago

While I respect your right to joke about how strange (horrifying) the image is, remember there is still a baby in the jar birthed from a mom who had to give up her child. Joke as you will, this is the internet after all, but do so keeping in mind there was a life there. From some of the comments I feel some people forget that.

My Renaissance Literature professor announced to the class that back in the 1700's/1800's Women would show their sheets to the town after their wedding night to prove they were virgins before marriage, and the town would react if there was no blood.
