M.R.E.s...ok? by squibster333in PostCollapse

[–]Splurby 1 point2 points ago

20 years old is pushing it. I would recommend you look for things like nasty smells, mold or anything else that's abvious before ingesting. A few years back they had recall a bunch of the newer MREs because the shake mix packets likely had salmonela.

Wait... if a fish fell from the sky hard enough to break that bench, why is the fish not torn up? I call BS until OP proves otherwise.

B series vs K series: where does r/Honda stand? by EricOnRedditin Honda

[–]Splurby 0 points1 point ago

Most people don't like change. 5 years from now the K-series is going to be holding its own with enough aftermarket mods to rival the B... then all of the sudden there will probably be a shift in favor due to technology advances. 10 years from now, someone on Reddit will be asking what our opinions are on the "tried and true" K-series and the Super-Duper XYZ series that travels through time and does your laundry. :)

What am I supposed to do when I encounter a rattlesnake? by bukojuicein hiking

[–]Splurby 1 point2 points ago

First, start hurling insults at it until it cries. Threaten to egg its parents car and perhaps start a nasty rumor about it in school. Also, just back away slowly and go around it.

Planning a hiking/camping trip to Colorado. Any suggestions? Also, how concerned should one be about the altitude there? by jmh1877in hiking

[–]Splurby 1 point2 points ago

Yeah it was beautiful. Not crazy tough on the hiking but parts of it can be a challenge depending on if there is snow cover. The valleys are amazing and the lakes are clean and clear. We did some fishing; ate the fish we caught. They were small but a nice meal with 5 or 6 fish and a little seasoning. We saw few people which is just fine. We camped around the lake comfortably. I particularly enjoyed seeing the old mining claims in the valleys. Some of the heavier mining equipment was abandoned decades ago and are still there. It tells a story. I thoroughly enjoyed those 4 days and hope to do it again. Except next time I will spend longer getting used to the altitude.

Did Missouri Lake most recently and I did get altitude sickness... I thought I was dying. Good hiking and camping otherwise though.

As an atheist, I feel this could be solved rather simply. by antivirus69in atheism

Looks like they need to up their tithe another 10% and pray super duper hard. That means squinting a lot and using an inflection with a sense of urgency while praying. That should solve the problem.

Lol very true. Come to think of it, I have never seen many kids in the area when I have been there. Definitely more of an adult themed place.

Part time restaurant work by reasondefiesin NewOrleans

This is probably a dumb question...

I have thought about doing this part time for extra cash but I am terrible with directions. Is it something we can pick up or is it imperative to pretty much know where everything is already?

As a Christian man, I am a little nervous about posting here, but I have a question. by Gueroswagin atheism

[–]Splurby 0 points1 point ago

People created religion. They didn't mess it up... it was created messed up. You gotta think of it through our eyes and you will get your answers. You think you are asking a question about religion, but all we see is the word 'people'. That is your answer. To us, the supernatural contents of religion do not exist, so ultimately we all just blame the people because that is all religion really is. People with their huge egos and disgusting ideas of morality.

Look you silly, pretentious, slack-jawed, wannabe intellectual... we are allowed to have a few laughs from time to time. If some of the r/atheism community wishes to engage in a little humor from time to time then I think I speak for the many when I say that we reserve that right.
