Comments are a place for discussion. People are down voting because they feel offended not because our discussion invalid. Let's face it, if obituary pics become okay, then at some point r/pics devolve into a grievance support group. Furthermore, someones dead relative means nothing to a great many people. As mean as it sounds, it just isn't appropriate as content.
