Sure. It's always easier to understand marketing than engineering.

Given that electric cars provide a vector to eventually being "green" that the traditional cars don't, I don't mind it so much. Even if it's not a whole lot better today, it's providing demand to build an economy and infrastructure that can make it better tomorrow. I can't really fault that. We have to start somewhere.

So if playing on the fact that "few people care about what they don't see" furthers that goal, and they believe their vehicle is "zero emissions", then ok. Good job marketing team.

I absolutely realize that.

I also realize that energy conversion becomes more efficient as it scales. There's a reason why the overall trend is to use a few large power plants instead of a bunch of single-home generators.

Additionally, I realize that when fossil fuels do eventually become untenable, it will be a few orders of magnitude easier to upgrade a few thousand power plants than a few million vehicles.
