The military part is not necessarily true anymore. As as recent member of the wounded warrior battalion (drug testing Mecca) we were given briefings about this drug and there now exists a test for it. Part of the "Big Five", probably not, but it's certainly on the list of randomly screened substances by now.

I used that word, perhaps improperly, to describe the nature of a combat unit; or in this case, department within the police force. The dangers of these professions, in conjunction with a lot of administrative pressure to handle issues internally, combine to make actions in support of the interests of your fellow officers/soldiers seem more important than those of the "enemy." Even if doing so violates your personal ethical code or the rights of those outside the unit. It creates a sort of social "island" from which you can expect unwavering support no matter what, provided you reciprocate. It makes other relationships seem less "real" because they just don't understand what its like to be a part of something like this. At least that's how I would describe what happens throughout the military experience. And police departments are well stocked with veterans and reservists...

Congratulations! I am now 30 and just transferred to a 4 year university to do the same. Deciding to join the military and generally waste my time working entry level jobs for a few years has me trailing the pack. It's daunting to jump in so late, I feel out of place amongst the other students ten years my junior. You deserve to hold your head high as you have become an inspiration to non-traditional students everywhere.

I served 4 years in the Army and was exposed to the insular, pack mentality environment for the first time. I completely understand how this sort of environment can go sour and the people involved being completely oblivious to how far they have shifted from reality. Certainly some of them just don't care how evil they have become, but I think that most have simply fallen prey to peer pressure and group ideals supplanting their individual concept. Manipulating the environment to counter this phenomenon would be met with resistance by the people affected, cost money by requiring oversight and restructuring expertise positions to be created, and its not in the interest of the authoritarian organizations that benefit from the convenient application of such unquestioning enforcement of orders by the police force.

Some chief wanting to make a name for himself by extracting a confession from you is not outside the realm of possibility. I would honestly go talk to them personally and provide identification to avoid any possible situation like I just described.

Here's some interesting tips Ive come across, if your really trying to maximize the effects. Apparently there is an effective carrier frequency for certain base frequency ranges. Its called the [http://healingbeats.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4](Oster Curve) although Im not sure if strict adherence to the highly specific frequencies listed is necessary or if you can interpolate to fit your own. Second, you can actually load a song, create a number of data points equal to the duration in seconds multiplied by your desired "beat" and then use the select by interval (2) feature and set half of them to either alternate balance or total volume at the desired rate. Ill break it down since its kind of complex.

create data points equal to song duration in seconds multiplied by desired base frequency.
Select all data points and assign duration in seconds equal to the songs duration in seconds divided by total points.
Choose the select by interval (2) and set this half to one extreme of balance or volume.
Select "invert selected data points" which selects the other half for you.
Set this half to the opposite extreme.

Personally, I think this and Isochronic tones are more powerful mechanisms. But the binaural beats supposedly balances activity between hemispheres and strengthens the corpus callosum (connections between the right and left hemispheres)

Ive run across this myself. I probably have no idea what I am talking about but when I opened the plugin tab there were several versions of flash drivers running concurrently. Disabling the older versions seemed to work for me. Again, I probably have no idea what I'm talking about.
