What metal band that you're technically not "supposed" to like, do you like? by Hamlet7768in Metal

They're upset that I'm interrupting their shitty music circlejerk.

As a white man, let me say that calling someone a douchebag is exactly the same as racism.

oh wow, someone knows about a mildly obscure band that gets a fuckton of praise from lots of sources! AMAZING!

Another interesting band to check out would be Vast. I'd link you, but I'm on a mobile device.

Fuck, no the band is Disaffected, the album is Vast. Sorry.

Listen to whatever shitty band you want, I don't really care. However, when someone says that the only reason someone wouldn't like a band is because they hate fun is when I get annoyed.

Casual racism and misogyny?

You seriously believe that a cartoon parody band, created by marketing executives, that plays music barely above Motley Crue in terms of heaviness (and quality) makes better death metal than The motherfucking Chasm? Well, at least I know I can safely ignore everything you will ever have to say about music.

Wait, you were actually serious? Let's just say that I could put my music library on shuffle and any death metal that comes up would be better than fucking Dethklok.

  • Dismember - Like an Ever Flowing Stream
  • Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos
  • Entombed - Left Hand Path
  • Immolation - Close to a World Below
  • Incantation - Onward to Golgotha
  • Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
  • Deicide - Legion
  • Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
  • Death - Human
  • The Chasm - Deathcult For Eternity (The Triumph)
  • Autopsy - Mental Funeral
  • Blasphemy - Fallen Angel of Doom (if you want to consider it death metal)
  • Cryptopsy - None So Vile
  • Vader - De Profundis
  • Suffocation - Pierced From Within

I could go on forfuckingever, but I think I've made my point clear.

Congrats on posting the wrongest thing that has ever been said on all of reddit. And I'm including shit like r/MensRights in that statement.

All the stock photos were of middle-aged business men in various states of irritation, so none of them would have worked as perfectly as a white 20 something. This was also the best quality picture without a watermark.

Or... they like music that is both fun and doesn't suck? No, that can't be it. They just hate fun.

Before even reading this thread, let me guess the general tone.

Edit: After reading this thread, it's "Boo Hoo, validate my shitty music taste".

The original cover's also pretty sweet as well. And since you don't seem to have posted the genre or samples, I will do so.

Forgot to mention, if you like Vektor, you should listen to Hellwitch's Omnipotent Convocation. Outer Isolation reminded me of that album a lot.

Re-thrash and original are contradictory terms. At best you'll get a solid Destruction/Kreator clone. If you're looking for original thrash your best bet is to stick with the 80's bands.

Anyways, the best "re-thrash", if you really want them:

This song got me into Metal and I still go nuts each time I hear it. [Judas Priest - Painkiller] by PK84in Metal

I am like Mel Gibson in that one movie... Signs I think it was. I am the water to Judas Priest's alien.

EDIT: I see that this comment is getting downvoted, and I think I know why. Mel Gibson wasn't the one who killed the aliens with water, but Joaquin Phoenix. I apologize for the inaccuracy.

Your defense of Painkiller... so brave.

easily one of the funniest songs ever made. The riffs are laughable and the solo is amazingly bad, but I think my favorite part is Anselmo trying to be serious.
