While you are correct, I think that you also missed part of the story. I'm pretty sure that offsets will only help if you are using numbers that are not co-prime. The chinese remainder theorem proves this (I believe).

The advantage of having primes is that they wil consistently have that kind of repeating element, whereas with NON* co-primes, you have to hope the offset is not a multiple of the smallest of the LCM (I think).

I'm at work, otherwise this is totally something I'd try writing out a proof for.

I work for a contractor, but I do R&D for them. I'm glad I forewent getting clearance, despite contractors being one of the biggest employers of my skill set (data science/mining). Now I'll be gone soon, to work on data science for a start up instead.

yeah, everyone here has at least a mild understanding of ASL, Id say a majority can at least finger spell. I'm taking ASL as my liberal arts concentration, and I used to do tech support for NTID, so my exposure to the language is a bit better than the average hearing person :P

I always loved watching the interpreter during math classes- makes the topic way more visual
