I've decided what my unborn children will wear at Halloween & Who Con. by aurora_soleilin doctorwho

[–]RosieRose23 1 point2 points ago

I've thought about the stroller thing ;). My husband is on the fence, he loves the idea, but doesn't want to go around explaining what a Dalek is all night. I think it would be worth it to have her with a little spraypainted plunger!

I don't think you'll find anyone here. This subreddit is for people to request that their pictures be photoshopped, not that pictures be drawn. You would probably have better luck in /r/AskReddit

Can I get a few eyeballs on this photo and get some help with her maiden name? by randaladamsin Genealogy

[–]RosieRose23 1 point2 points ago

At that time women took their maiden names as middle names. Pierce is likely her married name.

I might be pregnant, and I just need some advice and support. by intotheabyssitgoesin TwoXChromosomes

Just to make you feel better, period trackers based on past cycles are not worth anything as your period can change length without warning at any time. Your body does this neat thing where if it thinks it is a bad time to get pregnant (biologically) then it delays dropping an egg for a while, and that makes your period come later than normal. There is no way to predict if this will happen. If you want to learn more, you should check out the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility," it is really informative.

What is it like to be/raise an adopted child? As a geneticist, I know my partner and I should not have genetic children, but I can't imagine raising a child that isn't genetically mine. by Twinklefingersin TwoXChromosomes

[–]RosieRose23 0 points1 point ago

Perhaps adopting an embryo would help you with those feelings? I would have a hard time looking at someone I gave birth to and feeling disconnected to them, like they weren't really my child.

Drunkenly declared love for my boyfriend for the first time. TwoX, how/when did you first tell your SO that you loved them? by DrunkTextingIsBadin TwoXChromosomes

[–]RosieRose23 6 points7 points ago

My husband said it first. We were in that awkward stage where we both knew that we loved eachother, but we both thought it was "too early" to say it (Dating for about two months). SO every time he would drop me off there would be this awkward silence/pause and "Uhh, good night...." sort of moment. One night we just kind of sat in silence for a while, not knowing what to say, but not wanting the night to end. We said and kissed goodnight but as I was getting out of the car he touched my arm and asked me to wait. He said "Wait!...How much longer before I can tell you "I love you"?" I got all teary and we hugged and said "I love you!" and "I love you too!" It was really sweet.

My daughter does that to any woman holding her. Like "Wonder what THAT milk tastes like?"

We also say The shitter or The John. As in "If you need me I'll be in the shitter" or "He's in the John." Also, I hear "On the pot" a lot.

Edit: Just saw that you listed shitter too. If you only know about American culture from TV you would likely have missed this one as you can't say shit on television most of the time.

My great grandfathers name was J.C. Verl (with Verl being his middle name.)

Yeah, my husband only has a J as a middle initial, but he always writes it as "J." when we got our marriage licence, the clerk flipped the fuck out on him for writing it that way.

My husband has just a J. He writes it as "J."

Really? I got clothes in every size but newborn! There are 12 month things waiting to be worn that I got at my shower. My daughter was short, so I actually had to go out and buy newborn clothes because she was in them for like a month and a half, even though she was 7lbs 15 oz at birth.

I posted this earlier, but I have never seen the pink avalanche that other people describe. For instance, this is the collections by Carters right now. http://www.carters.com/carters/baby-girl-sets/carters-baby-baby-girl-sets,default,sc.html. I don't think that there are as much pink clothes out there as pregnant women think.

LPT: Avoid that "Oh crap" feeling in Outlook by delaying your sent email a couple minutes. by Ubertamin LifeProTips

[–]RosieRose23 8 points9 points ago

OH...ok, I didn't see where you could recall the emails. Just make them send later. I was thinking someone would use this to convince their bosses that they weren't taking 1/2 hour dumps at work or something.

I think this is a problem all pregnant women think they will have, but it doesn't really happen...

My daughter has a lot of yellows and oranges and browns and greens too. I know it seems like everything is pink before they are born, but it isn't really that way.

Case in point: Carters website, their current collections. Yellow and Navy are really popular for baby girls right now, and I am seeing a lot of coral too.

The thing is, babies are developed fully by the time they are like 20 weeks or something, after that they just need the time to grow.

I called the doctor the first day I noticed and he just called in a prescription for us. I will admit that I have not been great at doing it 4x a day, but I will try harder.
