120 000 / 8 = 15 000. You missed a zero.

(bold prediction) Welker WILL be traded by the end of the off season... by Burnz1758in Patriots

[–]Plutor 0 points1 point ago

Logan was 28 in the 2010 season when he sat out half the year. He was 29 was he was franchised (2011). He was only 7 months shy of 30 when he got his deal. Wes turned 31 less than a month ago. A year and a half separates "worth a five year deal" and "cut and run"? Guard is a way more physical job; I'd expect them to start looking old faster.

Wes Welker may not be the best WR in the game, but he's way up there. I'd argue he deserves big money (although, yes, not $120M over 8 years, that would be clinically insane). Over the last 3 years, he's been #5 in yards, #2 in receptions, and somewhere near the top in YAC.

THANKS FOR THE BACKUP, MAN.

My mom was yelling at the Gardner for destroying one of her exspensive plants, The Gardner showed her this picture the next day waiting for an apology. by cjayyyyin pics

This was really confusing, because you capitalized and misspelled gardener, making it look like the name of a local museum. I spent a full minute trying to figure out how the museum fit into this sorry.

There aren't really that many TV shows with original (as in, wrote the words for the show) lyrics. They're mostly scores and covers.

It's an Emmy. Blame Canada, if anything, would have only qualified for an Oscar.

This is the way it is most often in American society. The offender's and (usually) the victim's names are public. By-standers: not.

Indiana Jones hanging on: ridiculous

The God of the Hebrews smiting dozens of German soldiers: okay.

As other commenters have pointed out, they didn't go to Germany (my mistake). They went to an unnamed island in the Aegean Sea. Even closer.

Dog got out of his leash while walking. I chased him down and now he's cautious around me? by Black_Hatterin BadDogs

[–]Plutor 0 points1 point ago

Does your dog know 'stay'? Does your dog heel well during walks? If the answer is no, then you should change that. If the answer is yes, a good forceful order might be more effective than chasing him.

True. Apparently the novelization had Indy lashing himself to the periscope/exhaust with his whip.

German U-Boats were diesel-powered, so they needed air to run. They could only submerge for relatively short periods of time (typically just to attack). Given the distance from Egypt to Germany, they probably stayed at the surface the entire trip.

Have you never heard of off-site backups? Judgment Day was just pushed back from 1997 to 2004 after the events of Terminator 2.

The humans didn't know as much as they thought about the machines' history. They were wrong about purpose of The One, couldn't they be wrong about what the humans were being used for?

Is Google Chrome any better than Firefox? by brodie268in AskReddit

[–]Plutor 56 points57 points ago

I was an avid FF user for years, but I noticed that FF began to go the way of IE by becoming slow

I'm betting this was sometime between Firefox 2 and 4. This is part of the reason they've switched to the rapid release cycle. It would take 12-18 months to get a major release with memory improvements out the door, even if those fixes were ready. Now that there's a new release every 6 weeks (comparable to Chrome), speed and memory management have improved drastically. (Firefox outperforms Chrome with lots of tabs open, for instance.) I suggest you give it another try.

Firefox 13 will have that (which is in Beta and will be released on June 5).
