I've thought about doing this probably twice a year for 7 or 8 years now - albeit a 24 hour East Coast version, terminating in NYC. Seemed like a romantic trip to get a sleeper car, but the only drawback is the chemical toilet. Like, I'm afraid it'll just stink all the time in the sleeper room and we'll feel like we're in a traveling port-o-let.

Can anyone with experience tell me what it's like?

You know, back in the day as a scrappy "corporation hating" 20 year old, I used to hate AOL. Surely they were the root of all evil. And they switched the ISP industry from pay by the hour to unlimited usage, and the industry has been unlimited ever since and trying like hell to close Pandora's box.

So I thank AOL for creating unlimited Internet - I'm thankful it can't ever be undone, no matter how hard the FCC or Comcast tries.

Thanks for doing that research, though it looks like the OP has already brushed it aside.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but if you want to be a dad, then be a dad. Don't decide a month into it that it's not for you and you want to run away. And don't point the finger at your wife when it's your own issue.

My brother-in-law is in the same boat right now - having a hard time giving up his old partying/gambling life and instead of owning up to that, he's making his wife's life a living hell by blaming it on her. Like passive-aggressively making her divorce him.

If you want out, then just get out, don't blame other people. And next time, try to figure out if you'll like having kids before you get so far into it.

The Lee Harvey Oswald episode blew my fucking mind and turned me on to time travel. I really took Back to the Future at face value, but after the concept that you could go back and erase/rewrite history, I started really getting into time travel.

What a great episode.
