I simply can't give or throw away anything that has any amount of monetary value. by bobofattin minimalism

[–]Papersaurus 0 points1 point ago

You are spending time worrying and fussing over it. What is worth more then your time? You can always get more money, but sadly not more time.

Do a yard sale, and what ever doesn't sell that weekend, donate it and be done with it. :)

LPT: When visiting a foreign area always buy a local newspaper even if you can't read it to avoid pickpockets preying on tourists. by DonQuixoteWindmillin LifeProTips

[–]Papersaurus 0 points1 point ago

I'd just throw a small lock on my shoulder and keep in tucked under my arm (strap is adjustable). I also tend to have a glare on my face. This is how I got through Paris subways...my teacher totally freaked me out about it and I was uber paranoid. I probably didn't have to look as cranky lol!

Wear black/neutral colors/what the locals are wearing. Americans wear bright colors and logos, and just in general draw attention to themselves.

LPT Request: Moving soon, any suggestions to make packing as efficient and easy as possible? by mapadelphiain LifeProTips

/r/minimalism might help get you some more creative ideas.

Maybe let friends borrow books/plants/delicate items so they don't get damaged in the move? Easier to focus on picking them up after, rather then juggling in the boxes and risk breaking.

I buy Caffeine pills to be minimal on my coffee. Thoughts? by I_27_04in minimalism

[–]Papersaurus 3 points4 points ago

I drink decaf coffee most the time, I'd probably have a heart attack at the age of 20 if I took a caffeine pill. XD If you are trying to be minimal, why not just cut the habit? It's hell for the first few days, but is doable. :)

As a college student, I don't see the same people every day for the most part. Sometimes I'll go a whole week wearing the same pair of jeans, as long as they smell/look clean. I could probably get away with owning two pairs of jeans and 5 shirts if I really wanted to...

21M/19F, 3.5 years, perfect relationship, except no sex. What can I do? by jogrunjogin relationships

[–]Papersaurus 2 points3 points ago

One doesn't always need to be medicated for therapy, sometimes it just takes someone to talk to you and help you work out the issues on your own. Sometimes it is really helpful to talk to someone who has no biased opinion and can give sound advice.

getting into phys 122 by drgrgdresein udub

[–]Papersaurus 0 points1 point ago

That would require logic to do here though! I always have an exam the day of registration, so I'd say anything is better then wake up early and die method. Sometimes I wonder who is running all of this. :/

Maybe try taking it at UWB? Though, you'd still be doing the same Period II issues if you aren't taking it during summer. :( I hate registrations and their times...so frustrating! I hope it works out man!

Keys to a successful relationship? by throwaway39487in relationship_advice

[–]Papersaurus 0 points1 point ago

Don't bottle up issues. Be honest and open. Don't assume the other is thinking something, or let your imagination run wild, just ask how they feel. You should feel that you could talk about anything and everything without judgement from them. Sometimes they need their space, sometimes they just need someone to listen. Be silly together. :)

One of the many videos my parents watched while transitioning into veganism. My dad got a juicer, I swear he uses it almost every day. Gets your veggies in your diet while hiding them with apples and such. :)

How do I start? Current carnivore looking to quit. by yourkatchenin vegetarian

[–]Papersaurus 0 points1 point ago

I hate salads. I have to drench them with dressing. It's a mess. I love my veggies, but not in salad form. :( What I do love, is new foods. Ever since my family went vegetarian(ish more or less) I've had so much more different types of food. I love Indian and Asian dishes, and we now eat more of these types of meals. I really like veggie burgers/most fake meats (not so hot on the "hot dogs") and you throw BBQ, sweet chilli sauce or cheese on that bad boy and it's as good/better. You just got to find new things and make stuff your own way. Focus on the fun and exciting things to try, rather then the "oh no, I miss this and that and that". Take it in baby steps if you have to, and it's okay to have omnivore days if you need to. I had ham on Easter. I figure one small piece is better then saying forget it and giving up on the whole ordeal. ;) It gets easier, and food will start to taste better! Best of luck!

Some people like lowered beds. I have a really nice bed frame with storage under it (art stuff fits here) my dad built for me that is kind of tall, but If I had a normal one, I'd just keep it on the floor like my brother. It has a nice feeling being low to the ground, plus you don't have to worry rolling off it. Though, I'd worry about mold/moisture...

Websites for those who hate having too many programs? by poffinin minimalism

[–]Papersaurus 0 points1 point ago

Wow, I'm impressed! That's quite a powerful little art program, much better then a few others I know. I need tablet pressure capabilities, and draw as a serious hobby, so I use Paint Tool Sai (kinder on my computer then big Photoshop). I like the idea of programs off the computer though, especially for my old machine that can't take another one on.

Wait, what was all of those posts earlier in the year about not approving things on the ballot? Like, they were trying to make it sound like it would help pass, but really would stop it? Hopefully it will be more clear by voting time...

I like the vacation idea. Treat her and her husband to a trip somewhere far away they might like to visit. That way they both are included. You could always say it was from you and your wife, as gratitude and so that everyone is clear that it is just a thank you and nothing sour going on. You seem like you have a good heart, don't worry too much about it. :)
