I'm sure they do, but as part of your promotion and concerts it's your producers and promoters that insist on every available avenue of income to cover the costs. Neither Pearl Jam nor Roger Waters fronts their own cash to pay for a tour that costs millions, so whoever fronts it insists on merchandising.

Yes, he was pissed off at "fans" that were showing up at shows just to get drunk and scream and yell (He famously spit on a concert-goer in Montreal for just that). Later, he apologized, and realised that people actually identify with the music.

If I'm in a pub or buying at the liquor store, my choices are Guinness, London Pride, or ESB.

If I'm buying cheap swill to get drunk on while doing yard work or BBQ'ing, it's whateverthefuck brand.

I used to brew beer. I made a "Thai" Beer once. Into the wort (the hot barley malt / hops mix) I added a ton of thai chiles, some ginger and lemon grass.

It was pretty damn good.
