What grades/activities did you get into rutgers with? by nolander99in rutgers

[–]My_Password_is_Penis 0 points1 point ago

I lived in-state, had a 3.4/3.5 (can't remember which), participated in Girl Scouts (community service) throughout high school and dance. I got into the School of Arts and Sciences.

I think it really depends on which school you're applying to within Rutgers. Some schools are a lot more lenient than others in terms of GPA.

In terms of the apartment question, I have a friend lives in one and takes 15 credits a semester but works long hours outside of Rutgers. She has great grades and can pay rent but she doesn't have a social life. I think it depends on whether or not you want a social life.

Same here. I also sound a lot more pretentious when I say, "Oh I'm not a vegetarian, I'm a pescatarian."

This film was groundbreaking cinema. Better than Shawshank Redemption.

Yeah me too -- the dorms all look beautiful from the outside.

I also heard that they're going to be demolishing them.

I know with Demarest there have been some serious asbestos hazards as well as a series of bug infestations. I wonder if the other dorms in the area are having the same problems. It's gotten to the point where the building just needs to be torn down it's so bad.

A Jones for a Smith is definitely one of my favorite episodes too!

I love "Rapture's Delight" as well. A lot of people regard that episode as one of the best American Dad episodes so far. I tend to agree. It's become a staple for me to watch around Christmas time.

Where can I feed my family? by asummerin rutgers

[–]My_Password_is_Penis 1 point2 points ago

Glad I could help!

Stage Left is great and you can choose to eat outside if it's a nice day. It might be a good idea to make a reservation since other people graduating might have the same idea to eat there as well.

All of these are in downtown New Brunswick:

"Stage Left" and "Catherine Lombardi" are both quite nice but expensive (Stage Left is generally less expensive than Catherine Lombardi though)

If you're looking for casual you could try "Panico's Pizza" which is a nice little college town restaurant and great for Rutgers atmosphere inside. Also "Tumulty's" is a nice little pub/restaurant as well with similar low prices and great service.

These look like interesting choices --- I'll look into them. Especially the Musicals Pack. I took a Musicals film course this semester and have a new-found love for them.

I loved that movie! I felt like it was a pleasure to watch Kiki's Delivery Service.

Yep that bus is definitely like our buses and something you would see on a Rutgers bus.

Probably the Harry Potter series. I have it on VHS, DVDs, and special edition DVDs.

Listen, I just really love Harry Potter okay.

I agree completely with you!

I love "In Country...Club." The war references are hilarious as well as MIND QUAD!

"The One That Got Away" is a great Roger-centered episode.

"A Jones for a Smith" was listed as one of my favorites as well. I love the crack commercial.

"A Smith in the Hand" is one of the gems in the first season, definitely.

I love Patrick Stewart as Avery Bullock on American Dad:

  • "You are a complicated man, Smith, I would love to do mushrooms with you."

I too suggest watching the episodes in order. It's a great way to see the show evolve and how the animation gets better as the years go on.

For me it's actually the opposite for Family Guy.

I found the first few seasons hilarious, then they began trying too hard and the cutaway gags started to get old and forced. I no longer laugh at Family Guy episodes and have to convince myself not to turn off the new episodes.

(Discussion) Some people around me have/are giving up hope, what is a DVD about having hope or overcoming insurmountable odds? by charlesp22in dvdcollection

[–]My_Password_is_Penis 1 point2 points ago

WHY CAN I ONLY THINK OF SPORTS MOVIES?!

  • Miracle, Remember the Titans, Rocky, The Blind Side

Also

  • The King's Speech in my opinion can be about overcoming insurmountable odds.

  • Shawshank Redemption

  • I never saw Slumdog Millionaire but some people have said this is a good one.

It was definitely trying too hard to stick to its political humor shtick. All of the first season is about Stan fighting with his left-wing daughter because of stuff she liked that he didn't.

They've drifted away from that now and have developed their own unique style which I think is awesome.

I definitely think it has gotten better over time. Be sure to check out the seasons you haven't seen yet!
