I'm just curious do you have a musical background?

I would equate this to having 'finger memorized' the entire piece, rather than learning and practicing consistently with sheet music or tab. The latter method would cause the individual to think critically about what is being played and reduce the sloppiness of rapid shifts throughout the neck, while also forcing the player to concentrate on what is being played.

It did not sound fantastic. It was a mess out of time and slurred, mixed notes, etc. you could equate this to when some amateur mason builds a brick wall and the at home partner thinks it's amazing, yet there are globs of cement splayed all around the corner part. Then a master mason walks by and say's 'well look mate, it's not that good and if you take care next time you could clear that trouble up no problem.'

You're shocked that criticism would come from a nice person? What are nice people to you? individuals that pacify others and don't give honest feedback or opinions?

Criticism ahead: stop if you don't want to be upset. As a classical guitarist I would not classify this as 'nailed it.' The guitarist in question has many faults in skill. First, the tempo is unsteady at random spots and never stays true. Secondly this particular piece is not that difficult to play for somebody that has experience in classical guitar, you may notice that his fingers on the fretboard stay in a block formation where there is little to no variation in movement, and the right hand is playing in a patternistic pluck. This is more equatable to tapping your thumb, middle finger and pinky in succession and repeating that practice until you can do it very fast, which gives the illusion of supreme skill. I guarantee you that if the performer practiced that at half speed, he could play better, but after practicing this piece at such a tempo for what I'm assuming is awhile now, he would have to actually think about what is being played, rather than just finger memorization. Foot tapping needs to stop too. So very little skill and more playing a lot, which is not practice.

As an aside, you'll notice that his jersey colors are exceptionally bright. This is not uncommon for individuals of native American descent. In fact the colors and design patterns, (they are not accidental) Jorge wears can be attributed to the natives located in the Acapulco region, which just so happens to be where Jorge is from. This is best characterized because of the hot pink, a color not found to be unusual in native art designs through rituals. Also 90's.

Throwaway time! What's your secret that could literally ruin your life if it came out? by ohgoshwheretobeginin AskReddit

Not true. Officer reqs. Change over time. In the Korean war you only needed a GED to be an officer in the army and you would be senior of unit. This Time period would possibly place a .45 in his holster.

For those non-native Englanders, the theme is that of 'it's coming home.' which became a popular hit in England prior to Euro 96 and one after I believe. "I'ts coming home, it's coming home, it's coming. Footballs coming home.' are the real words.

So, I am an undergrad, declaring my major in Anthro soon, but I'm just curious. Who are you guys? What do you do? Where has your knowledge taken you? by Roger_KKin Anthropology

[–]Mrniceguysaysbenice 1 point2 points ago

It depends on whether you are getting the degree for the sake of the name or for the sake of a career. First: You need to be looking at grad school if you want to be a successful anthropologist. Not just because the higher certificate will help you, but more importantly; grad studies means doing research. Anthropology is all about research and that's where your future lies. You might become successful in certain areas outside the academic study of anthropology, (see Ted talk: Wade Davis) but you need a solid education. If you don't know how to look for grad school, start with this: when you come to something interesting, i.e. marriage rituals among the South Indian coasts, google that + grad school. You will get hits. Look at who the staff are. If you see someone that is in your field of interest look briefly at their publications. This shows you how much they research, or how often they are researching overseas. Then write them an e-mail telling them your interests and leave it so they can write you back. Do this with every topic you find interesting. Someone will eventually write you back. Be enthusiastic. You won't know passion in anthropology until you research and research means grad school. It's the only way unless your'e a millionaire.

I recently watched 'ST:TOS V.' I think Shat was on to something. It was the closest movie to TOS by Mrniceguysaysbenicein startrek

you know it's hard to condense 3 seasons of greatness, to capture all the magic of what something was in a couple of very short hours. Equivalant of someone asking you to define your life in 10 pages, you know? I think that might be why people loved TWOK so much. It brought something back from the original series.

Over at IMDB it say's that the bridge was newly built, (as there hadn't been a Trek movie in some time) and that a lot of the corridor scenes were re-used from ST:TNG. Shatner also says that the ending would have been completely different but a writers strike towards the end of the movie and a huge withdrawal of funds hurt the sci-fi alot. They also say that a lot of scenes from other movies were re-used. When you take all of that into consideration...

The badge was featured in the episode but only because Garret and her crew were transported into the future. Not once did she or any of her crew use it as a 'comm badge.'
