Parents of Reddit, when did you begin to accept the fact that your child was sexually active, and did your mentality change? by Replies_With_GIFsin AskReddit

Once my daughter started getting sexually curious around age 12 I sat her down, explained everything in intricate detail, and then fucked her myself just to get it out of the way.

I sometimes feel sad, sometimes feel happy. It's not a physical sensation. It's all mental.

That's pretty much me and my ex girlfriend. She was constantly thinking I was angry.

Does anyone else just not feel emotion this way? I really couldn't point to a place on my body where I feel emotion.

If someone gave me this test I'd just be confused.

After a few months of sitting on my arse putting it off, I finally got up and bothered to change the light bulb in my living room instead of sitting in the dark and tripping over the piles of crap I couldn't be bothered cleaning up.

Yes, I'm being completely serious.

I blame Reddit.

Yahoo Messenger bots can be so insensitive by EclipseGSXin funny

I once wrote an IRC bot that replied with affirmative statements to anything anyone said. (With a few context aware responses to things like "asl").

Most people would figure it out, but a surprisingly large number would chat for an hour or more. Mostly men attempting to cyber with it.

Fun fact: 50% of the people messaging the bot would ask if it masturbated within 3-4 messages. Even if the bot claimed to be a 10 year old girl.

I completely agree. I personally find girls in their 20's far more attractive than 16 year olds.

But physically, things start to go downhill by 19-20 - skin starts getting wrinkles, boobs sag, cellulite rears its ugly head... nature is cruel.

There's physical and mental attraction.

Physically I find 16-17 year old girls quite desirable. This is close to the peak of their physical development, a few more years and it's back down the hill.

But mentally, I find them annoying.

Girls generally start become physically attractive to men between 12-14 years of age, depending on the girl. This is also generally when they start menstruating. This is perfectly natural.

Most men would vastly prefer a more physically developed woman, and very few men would ever consider having relations with someone at that age.

But they do notice.

This doesn't disturb me so much. The human mind picks up on some really fucked up fetishes, this is somewhat natural.

What disturbs we is that some people will abuse positions of trust and authority to rape young boys and girls in a systematic and planned fashion, knowing full well the physical damage is trivial compared to the mental anguish you're causing, possibly ruining their lives.

What disturbs me even more is that other people in positions of power will help cover up your actions so you can keep doing this over many decades.

And what makes me absolutely rage is that the Pope, somebody you would imagine should be trustworthy, is part of the "in crowd". Everybody knows it, and still he gets away with it.

When starting at a previous job, I found a number of major security holes in legacy code. One such example was in a heavily trafficked website handling quite large numbers of financial transactions ($50,000 per week), and was very very trivial to exploit (Read: An ajax script that eval()'d any arbitrary code sent to it).

I pointed it out (Quite politely), and the response was to watch every line of code I wrote until they found a bug, and then point at it yelling "HAH- YOU'RE NOT PERFECT HAHAHAHA WE FOUND A BUG YOU WROTE SO NOW WE DON'T HAVE TO FIX OURS"

I'm not really exaggerating that much either. The boss literally called me into his office to give me the third degree about a button not working (on a mockup page that I made clear wasn't implemented), and pointed out that I shouldn't criticize others code when I wasn't that good myself.

I wasn't permitted to fix it (Was a massive fix, and there was no budget for it), and the bug is still there.

It was very satisfying handing my resignation letter to that douche.

I have Tourette's syndrome. AMA by pleetobowain IAmA

Not OP, but have Tourettes myself. Tics are completely voluntary in the sense that you consciously complete the tic.

However, not completing the tic causes an unbearable level of 'tension' in the brain such that I personally would prefer to die than not complete the tic.

I was always under the impression any ailment was considered a disease. The dictionary definition of the word seems to support this view.

Is there another term used medically to describe Tourettes?

I'd definitely recommend seeing a neurologist. There are treatments available and support groups that can help you deal with it.

Only a few percent of Tourettes sufferers actually get a vocal tic.

Tourettes is has quite a range of severity. There are a lot of people with minor Tourettes that go their whole life without ever really realizing what it is, because it was never bad enough to seek help.

Never seen that, but it looks interesting.

Virtually any activity that occupies my mind will reduce the tics. I just spend several hours at nightclub dancing and barely noticed them at all.

Yep, various tics come and go over a period of time (Anything from a few hours to years). There's still a consistant core set, but the rest come and go.

If you find it is affecting your day to day life, I recommend getting diagnosed. Even if you don't opt to do any treatments, at least knowing for certain helps you deal with it.
