He loves painting. He's very impressed with his results but they are...ah...not traditional. :) As long as he's happy, who cares? Necrons are pretty easy to paint with the basic black base + metallic drybrush, and he's getting better with every model.

I got my kid into 40k about six months ago and he's totally into it now. We're going to the local GW tournament for his 11th birthday in a couple of weeks (his actual b-day is the 27th.) I'm really paranoid about letting him play on his own, even though I'm pretty sure he'd be fine. The thing is, I want to play too and can't if I'm helping him. I play IG and Marines and he's been collecting Necrons. He'll be getting some Wraiths for his birthday.

My wife doesn't care for it at all, and I do my best to keep it on the down-low. Never lie, but don't blow smoke in her face, either. Eventually she'll figure out that after a bowl, I will pretty much do any house hold task she asks me to (with a smile on my face.) I'm okay with her not knowing that for now. :)

For old minis, I hate the original Rogue Trader SM Land Speeder. Worst model ever. Ugly as hell and utterly flawed to assemble. For new models, the goddamn Necron Lychguard. Not only do they make you glue their necks (NECKS!?!?!) between the head and the torso, but for some reason no matter what I do their weapons keep falling off. Eventually I'll break down and get some testors glue to put them on once and for all.
