Did you get hit at Sheffield and Grace in Chicago today? If so, contact me if you need a witness or something. by pugg_fugglyin bicycling

You can contact police if there is any investigation. But if they were just exchanging info, then I guess both parties are ok and they didn't need police assistance.

This is why we walk our bikes over the bridge by jmreno88in bicycling

Ah, now I understand. Never rode a bridge like that (there isn't any in my area) but we have a lot of tram rails here. They can take you down as well if you are not careful.

Funny, never saw a bridge like that.

But about riding on a steel surface.. just this Sunday I fell while crossing a tram rail. I had quite a good angle for my wheel to not skip into the rail (which would've been worse probably), but it slipped on the top and I fell. Damaged my chain-guard (chain-ring survived), left grip, left knee, left hand and a right thigh (no idea how). Luckily nothing serious but I was much more careful for the rest of the week.

Some explanation please? Narrow road or what?

Cars have day time running lights to attract attention cause it works. On a bike you are way smaller. Do you run your lights in the day time? by sleeptypingin bicycling

[–]Mattho 0 points1 point ago

I don't, however I turn on back light quite soon into the evening. Front only when it's getting dark. I do this mostly to save batteries.. but I think my little one-led dealextreme lights can't be even seen during daylight.

Others, check your legislation. Most of the EU countries have opt-out model. You are automatically an organ donor unless you say otherwise. However, family can often intervene.

I opened this post in a background tab and kind of knew what was going on since the title was so sparse. Browsed other stuff for like 15 minutes as I didn't want to look at it. I didn't know him, I didn't even know him as a redditor.. just read those few posts... but still..

My condolences... we can only hope his death will save others (as in we'll be more careful).

I agree, she is too nice for that kind of chest. But perhaps she wouldn't be where she is without it so it's a good thing overall. Also, they make her look natural in TV so it doesn't stick out like this.

How NOT to lock your bike. by Matthoin bicycling

[–]Mattho[S] 0 points1 point ago

Now I'm not sure if it is just a lock mount which you can slide the lock out of or is it part of the lock.. but still. At best there is one screw that is keeping this bike from getting stolen as the cable doesn't even circle around the frame.

I use earbuds but those old-style ones (something like this). Music is not too loud, I can have a conversation while having them on (well, I can hear the other person, not necessarily understand). I just don't like silence and it is a great way to detect if you lost your phone :)

Google's new actor feature is amazing! by tronrocksin movies

[–]Mattho 0 points1 point ago

For me, it's movie above 7 and TV series close or above 9. But I never act on score only. I might discard a movie if it has a rating bellow 6, but I don't automatically watch everything above eight.
