Samsung Galaxy S III Review (The Verge) by qakgobin Android

It's only 2 years old; a lot of people will just be coming to the end of their contracts now. The manufacturer should support it for 3 years at least, IMHO.

Really? I've heard tell that you'll get skill points to invest in abilities.

In fact: yup, I'm certain of it

It's a little confusing whether it is a sequel at all. While the protagonist is Eureka's son, it's set on something that resembles a near-future earth, with nations and such intact. It's not bad, but it's a far cry from the original.

Well, it does have a half-implemented levelling system.

Doctors could be struck off for refusing to give unmarried women contraceptives by GuaranteedDownVotein unitedkingdom

I'd agree if it were just allowing the patient to commit suicide, even just providing them the means to do so; not, as things stand, actively carrying out the act that will end their life.

Government unveils plans to remove benefits from those who refuse treatment for alcoholism or drug dependence by eliasqfuntybuntin ukpolitics

But it is if you're opposed to the organisation for one reason or another (and there are plenty of reasons to be so). I wouldn't attend a group that told me that I had to have "Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God", and the government shouldn't be forcing others to do so either.

The difference, as I see it, is in the active party.

In euthanasia, the active party is the doctor. If the doctor disagrees with doing this, fair enough.

In contraception, the active party (i.e. the one using contraception) is the patient.

... a suspected addict is in breach of their commitments if they refuse help for alcoholism or drug addiction.

Hang on, are they not going to at least run tests before taking away someone's sole income?

Also, this all seems to tie into Alcoholics Anonymous; an organisation with cultish undertones and a good dose of religious nonsense mixed in to their program. Refusing to attend such a service should not be grounds for loosing your benefits.

The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that a UK-wide blanket ban on prisoners voting cannot remain in place by God_Wills_Itin unitedkingdom

[–]Mashulace 5 points6 points ago

It's violence against a person.

No, it isn't. At least not without redefining violence, and redefining person.

Violation of the home can feel like rape to some.

That cheapens "rape" a hell of a lot, and besides, since when has subjective feeling been used in justice?

Why burglary? That's a wide enough crime that it seems could range from nicking a couple of DVDs to beating the occupant of a house bloody and running off with their life savings. Seems like a fairly arbitrary point to draw the line.

If it comes down to your own subjective label, is that label useful at all any more?

Also, that seems a tad offensive to those suffering from ASPD. It's a medical condition one has no control over, after all.

Clicking that brings up a download for a 51kb file called "default" with no extension, on two separate PCs.

I can fully believe this happened, but does anyone have another source? The links in the article appear to be broken. (one links to an extensionless file called "default", and the other links to an almost-identical post on the same blog.)

Real libertarians are socialists. Or did you mean libertarians as the term has been co-opted in America? You don't get to call yourself "real" when you take the term from someone else.
