A few folk know about this, so it's not quite on par with the original post; however, at around three in the morning I was walking back and forth down my hall in the nursing home where I work. Doing my rounds, making sure everybody's alright, the normal stuff.

Then, as I'm walking by one woman's room, I hear the distinct sound of sobbing. She was bawling her eyes out. She had had a stroke and other medical complications that prevented her from talking and moving one half of her body. I walked up to her and hugged her, smiled and knelt down beside her bed. After that, I held her hand and asked her if she needed anything; she squeezed my hand and looked at my eyes. I sat in that room for awhile until she let go then went back to work.
