For me the hardest message I ever wrote was my first one. And now because I've only gotten 1 reply back I just give less and less of a shit sending them out.

I do make them fairly targeted though to a specific interest I liked in their profile. I limit myself to a 5 sentence maximum for length so they aren't overwhelming as well.
