I had this exact decision last week. I ended up buying the Nexus. Both the One X and SGS3 were underwhelming for me. I'd rather grab a phone I know is great (and will get regular updates) that will last me at least until Jellybean (or whatever comes next). That way I can apply my subsidy (and renew my contract) on a phone I'm actually excited about.

I don't think Obama went far enough today. In fact, I think his response is pretty flaccid. He did do the "right thing" in the end, but in the aftermath of Amendment One, America needs to hear from its leader that what transpired was fundamentally wrong.

This is what JFK said in 1963 regarding civil rights:

"The heart of the question is whether all Americans are to be afforded equal rights and equal opportunities, whether we are going to treat our fellow Americans as we want to be treated."

Read Obama's statements. They pale in comparison to Kennedy's speech. He keeps speaking of his "evolving" opinion, and being "sensitive." Can you imagine JFK being so calculated and apologetic?

From what I've heard about the Xperia Ion (though this may have changed) it's simply the uglier US version of the Xperia S which, although a decent phone, can't compare to the One X.

The Ion isn't shipping with ICS and also has a worse processor. Its one saving grace is its screen, but from what we've heard, the One X has the screen to beat right now.

S3 announcement aside, I'm also waiting to see if reviewers find the battery life acceptable. I believe it's still using the 1850 mAh battery in the non-LTE version (I could be wrong) which may not last very long on LTE.

Awesome. I'll get a chance to see what Samsung is bringing to the table on May 3rd (and whether it will be coming to the US before hell freezes over) before making a decision on whether or not to buy the One X.

This is why I couldn't bring myself to pick the Synthesis ending. What the Reapers did was horrendous, and without a conclusion that provided some sort of justice for what they did to the galaxy...well, it'd be like if we had pardoned Hitler because we wanted a unified Europe after WWII.

I'm a huge fan of DA:O and even DA2, but after the ending debacle I'm extremely hesitant to pre-order another BioWare game. I'll probably spoil the ending for myself just to ensure that the ending isn't some sort of ABC bullshit.

Agreed. Apple is doing something similar with iMessage, and having used a friend's spare iPhone for the last couple months, I can say that it works very well (as long as everyone you're texting has an iPhone). If Google did the same with Google Talk (a service almost all my friends are using anyway) I'd be delighted.

Maybe it's just me, but I found the controls for ME1 intolerably obtrusive (maybe it's an Xbox thing?). I loved the story, but the gameplay was super hard for me to get past. I still played through the game 4 times (so maybe not that intolerable), but could only do so on Normal (I beat ME2/ME3 on Insanity, no problem).
