That just barely scares me, yet it's probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

I have tried the old power supply, but I have no new motherboard. With both power supplies the mobo exhibits the same behavior: light, nothing else.

I can't really say...it's kind of both. The capacitors look fine though. They're all flat.

I hear nothing from anything.

And yes, I have the 4 sticks of RAM in the motherboard.

I have removed the backup battery. No luck.

I have yet to try testing the PSU on another PC.

What I mean by "not turn on" means I don't see any fans running nor anything on the screen. Essentially, I see nothing running except that light popping up.

Well, to be fair, he had about half a second to react to the truck, which probably wasn't fast enough for most to instinctively jump out of the way; rather, raising the hands take less time, but obviously that didn't really matter at that point.

What's the ratio of the cities that actually surrendered peacefully? I was under the impression that very few cities actually surrendered, regardless of the civilians' wishes. Was this historically not the case?

What about their policy of having all besieged settlements' civilians and soldiers killed when refused to surrender? I think Subotai employed that heavily under Genghis' authority.

I'm gonna be the first and say I actually do. I'm gonna try bullet-points for once:

  • I find joy in that my friends/family care enough about me to take me out to a restaurant and do something like this.

  • I find joy in that when people are singing happy birthday, they are joyful as well (well I mean, at least not sad).

  • Some of the customers actually pass you and personally wish you happy birthday afterwards. And they do so with pleasure. I respond by showing my pleasure and giving them a word of thanks.

  • It's just supposed to be a joyful event overall. When I look at the crappy phone video my friends took of it, I can't help but smile seeing the previous 3 instances happen. I find joy in that.

Nobody else?

EDIT: Bulletpoints work now!

I think half the voters in this thread need to take a breather and check their butt-hurtness. Downvoting a testimony doesn't make a lot of difference.

You know, speaking of religion, I actually would recommend you go to a small church or something to make friends. Church people are supposed (big emphasize on supposed) to be a bit nicer people, assuming they take into practice everyone being imperfect and have problems, and not gossiping and treating other people poorly and shit. Not only that, churches typically want you to make friends too, in hopes for you to stay. Some of my greatest, life-time friends I met from church.

I say this because I'm a church deacon myself, and I'm in charge of a certain study group. Some of my most important roles before, during, and after study is to look charismatic as a leader, sound friendly and humorous, promote open debate, and personally speak to newcomers afterwards. This helps them know at least one person, and promotes a comfortable environment to return to.

Now, of course, this doesn't have to be Christian churches; most religious organizations do the same. But I'm sure you're also smart enough to know that I'm not talking about places like Westboro Baptist or some other fanatical organization ;)

gay marriage cheapens the institution by texacerin pics

I spent 2 minutes trying to figure out what was so gay about this picture before going to the comments and finding out that this was about that Kardashian couple :/

Which actually confused me even more, because I still don't know what they've been doing and what this has to do with homosexuality.

[–]JinandJuice 12 points13 points ago*

You're partially right here. When soldiers were lined up against the wall, they were most likely not deployed for combat positions just yet. It looks like they were assaulting the mosque, so the troops probably besieged it and well-secured the area outside of the wall before the assault. Once the gate was blown, you see the troops advance next to the wall, standard column formation. This is to minimize size and prevent funneling in the gate, so that the troops could flow through the gate without clustering.

That said, the soldiers certainly did clump up and get stuck in the gate, and this is a huge mistake. Troops were unwilling to pass the safety of the gate, but troops behind were pushing to get through. If ANYTHING was shot at that direction, someone was bound to get hit. Fortunately, it looks like the enemy here was almost non-existent.

It's not exactly that these Iraqis are incompetent; they were just doing as they were told, but they probably did not have the tactical instinct that American soldiers are trained much more for. I'm sure of they were actually shot at they'd scatter and find cover in an instant, albeit I wouldn't consider that very advanced tactical instinct.
