A woman's value is based heavily on her looks.

Pennsylvania Legislature Will Consider Defunding Planned Parenthood by 2muchrainin Pennsylvania

[–]JeepChick 3 points4 points ago

I caught some of this last night on our state equivent of CSPAN and was "lucky" enough to hear the bill's sponsor, Darryl Mercalfe speaking. His profound stupidity had me literally screaming at my television too angry to do anything else.

At one point I heard him inform everyone that at 91% of the pregnant women that walk in the door at Planned Parenthood walk out no longer pregnant on their first visit. I want citations for that motherfucker. Gahhhh! Such blatant lies and propaganda. Not the least of which our state doesn't even work that way. You have to have a counseling appt and a series of other things prior. And 91%??? I swear to the FSM that I'm running for office someday just to counter these utter fucking retards.

*Sorry for gratuitous f-bombs...but this gets me so angry.

Its called respect. It's also treating the homeless and poor with some dignity and recognizing them a human beings that is lacking so much; and not just around here. If I had a damned quarter for every drunken frag boy or party girl I saw at 2am stumbling past my friends on the street, calling them names, yelling to me to get away from "them" or taking "funny pictures" of them I'd have enough to get at least one of them off of the street. Humanity disappoints me sometimes.

I thought shipping insurance was the seller's responsibility, right? by Neuromancer4242in Ebay

[–]JeepChick 0 points1 point ago

So if this were me I would give you, the seller the opportunity to protect this shipment before it went out. (Sidenote: it must have been hella expensive if insurance is running $100 per box). If you declined the insurance, I, as the seller would most definitely purchase it, if only to protect me if something happened to them in transit. If something was lost or broken then I'm out the product AND the cash to you.

Typically, unless the item is a big ticket item I won't bother with insurance unless the seller opts in on the invoice (always an option for them).

Thinking about paying for a Premium Ebay Store, I have a question. by RoyCisnerosin Ebay

[–]JeepChick 0 points1 point ago

There is some great advice here already but I thought I'd throw my $.02 in as well. I run both auctions and a store (premium I think). Typically I'll post all items at auction first and what doesn't sell is moved to my store at 5% less than originally listed.

Now I've had both forever but just recently started moving mass quantities of items to the store at once and just pulled in over $300 since Friday. Just a suggestion for you as you say you've got a stock pile of things. Maybe consider the same methodology but with a basic store.

How does a free shipping offer work? by Fruitfarmerin Ebay

[–]JeepChick 0 points1 point ago

You can either buy whatever you'd like and then don't pay immediately (wait for buyer to send you a combined invoice with free shipping as most of my customers do) OR request an invoice. Either one requires you to not pay immediately.

At least 25% of my store inventory comes from local thrift stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army.

Why do I feel like this post was made just for me?

My response to Facebook friend that said he was glad KS pharmacists could now refuse to fill birth control prescriptions. by kmoneyixajin TwoXChromosomes

[–]JeepChick 3 points4 points ago

If the pharmacist has some moral obligation that interferes with his ability to perform his job, in its entirety then he (or she) should not have that job. Plain and simple. We don't have police enforcing only the laws that their moral and religious obligations permit and you don't see Muslim pork salesmen so why is this acceptable?

It's not.

Is this sale a good idea? by Neuromancer4242in Ebay

[–]JeepChick 1 point2 points ago

Glad it's working out for you! Personally I typically rely on USPS First Class International for my overseas shipping because it is least expensive. But, with the considerable amount of weight this will have maybe you should consider Fed Ex or UPS. Both of which you woul of course cover the cost of. Both are easily trackable and secure. Please dont be alarmed if the seller tacks a few dollars over the cost of shipping onto this to balance the need to drive to fed ex, ups or meet overseas shipping / packaging requirements. Good luck!

How do you make your money on Ebay? by cleggcleggersin Ebay

[–]JeepChick 1 point2 points ago

Vintage and mid century collectibles primarily. Art glass, vintage kitchen and housewares, china, porcelain...all kinds of breakable crap and a TON of vintage and antique Christmas. Generally anything from the turn of the century to the early 70s or so.

Used to do it full time in my good old powerseller days. Now I'm doing it in addition to freelance marketing & design gigs.

Is this sale a good idea? by Neuromancer4242in Ebay

[–]JeepChick 1 point2 points ago

If the seller has your country blocked there is a very high chance they will refuse the sale anyway.

The danger lies in the fact that even once you send the money and it is received, you can claim that you didn't receive the books (even if you did); that they are damaged; a myriad of things and 9 times out of 10 PayPal will side with the buyer and return your money. This leaves the seller without the books or the money.

You're asking the seller to complete the transaction outside a number of their established parameters: Country, Shipping Method, an Unconfirmed address AND you're new to ebay (low feedback score). I'm sure you have the best of intentions but I would likely refuse the sale. It's too high a ticket item and you're asking for a lot with this transaction.

Perhaps if you consider asking the seller to ship to your parent's home (assuming they live within the seller's approved countries) and allow the seller (with their considerable experience) to choose the shipping method that they are most comfortable with AND you open some sort of dialogue to establish a rapport with the seller; then maybe it would work for you. I would probably consider the sale under those conditions.

Hope I don't sound too harsh and you can appreciate the sellers perspective on this.

Tried and true process is getting old, any tips? by NinjaCameramanin Ebay

YUCK!

I use Auctiva for EVERYTHING.

I will do a round of pictures (assembly line of 50-100 items) and shoot all of the items one at a time on my black fabric background with lighting...etc. Then upload ALL of the images at once to Auctiva (they host).

Then assembly line everything right back through for listing (they have templates, I can schedule, include 24 pictures...) and tt's as easy as saying "I want that picture, that picture, this picture and that picture", just one click.

Is this sale a good idea? by Neuromancer4242in Ebay

[–]JeepChick 2 points3 points ago

Okay a couple of things:

First, you CAN contact the seller with any questions you have. At the bottom of this listing there is a question another potential bidder asked and the seller answered. Beneath that: Read more. Click that and follow the links to ASK SELLER A QUESTION ABOUT THIS ITEM. It will give you multiple tick boxes to see if it can answer your question without having to contact the seller but just choose the OTHER option at the bottom of the list.

All of the sellers credentials are good: Top rated seller & 100% feedback (obvious he has a good reputation.)

As far as the shipping situation. If I were the seller and you are new to ebay, it's a 4 digit sale AND you're overseas while proposing that I ship it to your friend I would decline the sale. There are a lot of cons out there (from the sellers pov) and having it ship somewhere other than a registered address (through ebay / paypal) could lend itself to a myriad of things happening to the shipment and me losing either cash or the item entirely.

I would propose they ship it directly to you if you decide to purchase this.

Can I ask why the preference for FedEx?
