How does DDR3 RAM Keep up with processors that are 3* as fast ? by icy100in compsci

The only distinction is that it's on the same die as the CPU

Ok, it was great 8 years, good job everyone, lets wrap it up with... MYSTERIOUS BOX AND A BUNCH OF GHOSTS!

My point is that huge game tree/huge number of configurations means nothing by itself, if the game contains some structure, which can be exploited. There are problems where it is possible to considerably reduce search space. Hardest Rubic cube problem from 1020 to 107. Minimum hints of Sudoku, Edge matching problems, real world SAT problems, even stupid TSP has solved instances of 10 of thousands vertices, which is, given naive estimates, many orders of magnitude harder than chess. Only thing that matters, if (and how) would it be possible to use chess rules to build some structure and reduce search tree rapidly. 1050 to 1020 or 1025 or similar isn't that far fetched.

There's a lower bound of about 1020 possible board configurations in checkers. If you had a computer that ran for 137000 years it would need to solve about 231000000000000 positions every second for straight in order to solve checkers. And trust me, it's a big step up from a processor clock cycle to solving a board position, even presuming you have enough storage space at all.

And we know checkers to be EXPTIME-complete, so brute force is as well as you can possibly do. Checkers will not be solved for a very, very, very long time, if at all.

Okay, valid point. You will never see me say/write it again.

Ehm, I dare to say I understand linux, or at least enough to satisfy my Unix professor and pass. I just think it is overkill for desktop for average people. Ad bacon: http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/tonig/who_do_you_dislike_that_reddit_loves_personally_i/c4ontcg

Nope, as I wrote, just a few first books. I got simply bored by a lack of a new ideas, imagine reading 20 books about Middle Earth and all the same, that's how I felt. I will downl aquire Men at Arms and try it.

Thanks, that might be it, so basically nothing ground breaking.

I was just curious and when wiki/google failed it became matter of principles.

I love pork meat, when it tastes like port meat. When someone drops it in a ton of salt and grilling sauses and who know what, he is just barbarian. Compare this to this, one tastes like pork, the other... however head chemist from Mama's Marinades want.
