Eph 6:2 “Honor your father and [your] mother”; which is the first command with a promise: by Griddlerin exjw

Deuteronomy 5:16 “‘Honor your father and your mother, just as Jehovah your God has commanded you; in order that your days may prove long and it may go well with you on the ground that Jehovah your God is giving you.

If a person is allowed to kill themselves by not taking blood, why is euthanasia illegal?

Good question. It is only illegal if someone helps you. I don't think there is a penalty if you kill yourself.

The question of blood has already been played out in the Courts. It is left up to the individual to make personal medical decisions based on conscience, unless in some cases the state intervenes because the individual is incapable or not of age to make a sound determination.

In the past the doctrinal restriction against any blood product has been upheld by the Courts when individuals chose to abide by such doctrine. Therefore the Court would only be pleased by the new doctrinal changes and could not find grounds for penalty on what they formerly supported. This is a matter of case law and would require an overturn from the highest Courts, which in my opinion will never happen. In short a person of intelligent capability chooses what they want. See

Hebrew inscription appears to confirm 'sign of Jonah' and Christian reference on ancient artifact by Griddlerin atheism

[–]Griddler[S] -1 points0 points ago

This is important from a christian perspective. The inscription is in Hebrew and found in Jerusalem dating to prior to the destruction of Jursalem in 70 C.E. Jesus first followers were Jews and he is said to tigh Jonah to a resurrection hope. Therefore it adds weight to the evidence for a historical person which some have cast doubt upon.

Mat 12: 38 Then as an answer to him some of the scribes and Pharisees said: “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.” 39 In reply he said to them: “A wicked and adulterous generation keeps on seeking for a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jo′nah the prophet. 40 For just as Jo′nah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. 41 Men of Nin′e·veh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it; because they repented at what Jo′nah preached, but, look! something more than Jo′nah is here.

Of course if the inscription was found to predate Jesus or be found to have other Jewish signifcance then it itself would be insignificant to Christians.

A question to all Christians (Srs discussion time). by iWesTCoastiNin atheism

When Jesus lived many men still believed that the sun was a omnipotent being that should be worshiped.

This was not the case among the Jews where Jesus first started his ministry.

Exodus 20:4 “You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5 You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me; 6 but exercising loving-kindness toward the thousandth generation in the case of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Romans 1:24 Therefore God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them, 25 even those who exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the One who created, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; 27 and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.

That which can be described requires a creator, as that which cannot be described cannot be created. If God is eternal can he really be desribed?

So you described a math relation to creation of a math problem. Amazing how we arrive at these things. If you cannot describe it, then it is not created.

Create something that you cannot describe, and when you are done you will describe it.
