My last experience with RS (I was a member for like a year and then some) was about 2-3 years after I stopped playing. A friend of mine, who still played, wanted some of my gold and convinced me to stop in and trade him some. Well they fucked with the trade system to the point where the exchange was impossible through the trade window. So I remembered the old trick I used to swap items between accounts without a third party--I went to somewhere in the middle of nowhere and dropped half my cash and waited for it to spawn on his screen.

Well eventually it disappeared from mine and never appeared on his. Long story short I lost something like 20 Million Gold. Yes, it was a virtual currency I hadnt used in over two years, but god dammit I worked for that shit a few years back. It felt like breaking a Nintendo 64.

Occupy died because it didnt know what it was. Plenty of people had ideas for what they wanted it to be. The Socialists wanted it to be a socialist uprising, the Libertarians wanted it to be a Libertarian uprising, the democrats wanted it to be an Obama re-election campaign. Ultimately it just became one thing: A random, disorganized assortment of the far left that quickly faded into irrelevancy. Regardless of whether or not the cells are alive today, Occupy, like the Tea Party, has become irrelevant.

EDIT: Also, Occupiers are by and large condescending assholes to anyone with a slightly conservative opinion on anything at all. Its what made the Libertarians leave.

Couldnt agree more with your edit. I've never had a huge issue with NASA as a government entity...its one of the few (if not the only) government entity that sets out to do exactly what it was meant to do. It doesnt regulate. It doesnt try to sell us shit. All it does is research to further advance science. I consider that a noble purpose and would easily fund it with my tax money, as long as its not too crazy. That being said, the private sector is the future in space, and this is the time for transition.
